Tarantula roll – Rikki Rikki

Tarantula roll - Rikki Rikki
Panko breaded soft shell crab, jalapeno, avocado, masago, chili sauce, and spicy mayonnaise. Happy hour $5.95
Rikki Rikki, Kirkland WA

I really loved this roll (and for less than six bucks)! It was a nice change to have the soft shell crab covered in panko. Usually they’re tempura battered and fried. The panko gave it a different texture and flavor to the sushi roll. Noms!

Pub wings – Belltown Pub

Pub wings - Belltown Pub
Buffalo style with ranch dressing. One pound $11
Belltown Pub, Seattle WA

I’m usually a big fan of wings, but these were super small so they were pretty much all bones and sauce. Lame! A pound of wings also doesn’t get you very much so you’re left hungry and unsatisfied.

Bourbon Basil cocktail - Belltown Pub

Bourbon Basil: bourbon, muddled basil, limes, simple and soda. $7
This drink was just OK – a bit on the sour side and very little alcohol.

Breakfast poutine – The Coterie Room

Breakfast poutine - The Coterie Room
Country gravy, fried cheese curd, french fried potato, tender herbs, fried egg. $13
The Coterie Room, Seattle WA

Wow, this was really delicious! All the flavors were great and I loved the addition of the sunny side up egg on top. I wish I could eat this more often, but then I’d have to buy larger clothes. 😉

Chilled New Caledonia blue prawns – Luce

Chilled New Caledonia blue prawns - Luce
Summer melon, fennel, dill, lemon verbena. Tasting menu $95
Luce, San Francisco CA

The prawns were really good in this dish, but it was the accompaniments that really made it interesting. The variegated leaves were beautiful and the combination of different herbs and melon were new and delicious.

Bacon and eggs – Wingmasters Sports Bar

Bacon and eggs - Wingmasters Sports Bar
Two eggs over-easy with sizzling fresh bacon, Yukon Gold hashbrowns and toast. $7.59
Wingmasters Sports Bar, Seattle WA

This basic breakfast is hearty enough and at a reasonable price. The servers here are really great and the atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. It’s a wonderful spot to grab a beer and wings to watch sports tv in Ballard.

Wheat toast - Wingmasters Sports Bar
Wheat toast and strawberry jam.

Mimosa - Wingmasters Sports Bar

Mimosa. Gotta start the day off right! 🙂

Warm peach sticky bun – Town Hall

Warm peach sticky bun - Town Hall
Bourbon caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, candied pecans. $9
Town Hall, San Francisco CA

Mmm, this dessert was very tasty and the peaches were great. The sticky bun was a bit too caramelized on the bottom and hard to cut through, but all the flavors were there and the vanilla ice cream helped to soften up everything.

Mmm, this biscuit was soft and moist and tasted great! The bacon and egg cooked in made it more hearty and substantial. I’ll admit that this biscuit actually filled me up. 🙂

Seafood poke – Rikki Rikki

Seafood poke - Rikki Rikki
Chopped various seafood and cucumber dressed with spicy soy sauce. Happy hour $4.95
Rikki Rikki, Kirkland WA

This place has a great happy hour with plenty of discounted food and drinks! That’s probably why one of sisters frequents this place, hehe. The poke was pretty tasty. It was more of a salad with some chopped fish on top, but I didn’t mind because it cost less than five bucks. The fish tasted fresh and the soy dressing was good.

Sausage, egg and cheese muffin sandwich meal – Burger King

Sausage, egg and cheese muffin - Burger King
Savory sausage, eggs, and melted American cheese inside a warm English muffin. Served with small side of hash browns and a small Seattle’s Best coffee.. $5.29
Burger King, San Francisco CA

I can’t remember the last time I was at a Burger King in the States. I don’t really like their food very much, but I was late to work and didn’t have time to eat breakfast at home so I ducked in to BK for a quick meal. The sandwich was what I expected, OK. But they do seem bigger that the sandwiches at McDonald’s though.

Hash browns - Burger King

Hash browns. These are the best part of a Burger King visit. I swear they must have MSG in them because they’re SO addictive. 🙂 But why don’t they call them tater tots? That has always confused me.

Seattle's Best coffee - Burger King

Seattle’s Best coffee. It’s super ghetto looking with the ill-fitting unbranded sleeve.
