Plato D’Boracay Resto, Boracay PHILIPPINES
Mmm, this squid was so good! They were grilled just right so that the squid weren’t tough and chewy. I loved eating the heads and eyes. Hehe!
Calamansi and red chilies for making the yummy dipping sauce.
Fresh fish at d*talipapa seafood market.
Sautéed in olive oil and seasoned with garlic and laurel. 270 PHP
Mesa, Boracay PHILIPPINES
Ugh, this wasn’t very good. It had a weird flavor and texture. I don’t know if they just threw it in for garnish, but the dry bay leaf was not appreciated. I hope that’s not how they produced the laurel flavor, by throwing in a crusty leaf afterward! I was excited to order this dish and it fell flat.
Station 2 beach.
Deep fried squid serve with chili vinegar sauce. 320 PHP
White Moon Bar, Manila PHILIPPINES
Meh, these were dry and boring, but the punchy vinegar was so sour that it kind of made up for the lame calamari. I do love sour things! Hehe.

Mmm, another delicious dish from Nha Hang Ngon. This had SO much flavor and a variety of textures – it was perfect! The seafood was prepared properly and the sauce was amazing. I could eat two plates of this!

Deep fried breaded squid rings served with aioli. 198 PHP
Chelu Bar and Grill, Manila PHILIPPINES
Meh, these were ok. At least they weren’t overdone, hard or chewy.

Fried rice with shrimp, calamari. 114,000 VND
Bamboo Garden, Ho Chi Minh City VIETNAM
This dish was OK. The seafood was actually pretty tender and flavorful, but the dish as a whole was kinda boring. They actually just scooped the fried rice into the clay pot before serving. I thought that it was gonna be cooked in it so that there would be crispy rice at the bottom, but that didn’t happen. 😦
Caipirinha: dark rum, lime, and sugar. Two for 85,000 VND
Long Island Iced Tea: tequila, gin, rum, vodka, triple sec, coke, and lemon.
Saigon Opera House (Municipal Theater of Ho Chi Minh City).
Shrimp, beef, scallop, squid, chicken, jalapeno, vegetable, garlic. $12.95
Jasmine Tea House, San Francisco CA
Mmm, for a delivery clay pot dish, this rocked! The ingredients were of surprisingly good quality and they tasted great! There were so many proteins packed in there. Most Chinese places fill the dish with bok choy and only give you a few slices of meat. I was even surprised that the squid and scallops were tender and fresh tasting. Now that’s impressive for Chinese delivery! I would definitely order this dish again.
