Classic breakfast – Escena Lounge & Grill

Classic breakfast - Escena Lounge & Grill
Scrambled eggs, ham, fruit, wheat toast. $12
Escena Lounge & Grill, Palm Springs CA

This was ok. They give you plenty of ham, but the scrambled eggs were my favorite. They weren’t very light and fluffy. I still love their complimentary muffins though!

Ham and cheese biscuit nuggets – The Wine Kitchen

Ham and cheese biscuit nuggets - The Wine Kitchen
Black pepper gravy. $6
The Wine Kitchen, Leesburg VA

These little bites were yummy and fun to eat. I liked the black pepper gravy too, but I think this ended up being to heavy to eat by myself. This would have been great to share with another diner. It tasted great though, but just too rich to eat the entire thing.

The luau pizza – Marcello’s Pizza

The luau pizza - Marcello's Pizza
Canadian bacon topped with juicy pineapple tidbits.
Marcello’s Pizza, San Francisco CA

Hawaiian pizzas have always been my favorite and they tend to pack relatively fewer calories which is a bonus! I love the pizza crust at Marcello’s. It’s on the thinner side and has a great bite to it.

Ham and scrambled eggs – Philippine Airlines

Ham and scrambled eggs - Philippine Airlines
Hash browns, mushrooms and tomato, pineapple, cranberry raisin bar, roll, orange juice. Complimentary
Manila (MNL) to San Francisco (SFO), Philippine Airlines

Ugh, not the best way to end a vacation – with subpar breakfast food from PAL. The ham was a bit salty and the hash browns were super mushy. I never expect much from airplane eggs so I really didn’t dock PAL points for them. Oh well…

Spaghetti – Jollibee

Spaghetti - Jollibee
Sweet style meat sauce with ham, sausage, and ground beef served over noodles and topped with cheese. Side 50 PHP
Jollibee, Manila PHILIPPINES

Mmm, I don’t think most Americans have ever tasted Filipino style spaghetti, but it’s the best! I love the sweet meaty sauce, and it’s super addictive. I could eat a huge plate of this and still go back for more. NOMS!

Valentine's notepad - Jollibee
Valentine’s notepad meal freebie. This was the first time I’ve ever received a notepad with a fast food meal. Lol!

Paseo press sandwich – Paseo

Paseo press sandwich - Paseo
Succulent morsels of roasted pork nestled atop sweet banana peppers, draped with sheer slices of smoked ham, Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions, all melted together between a hot press. On a lightly tasted baguette slathered with aioli (seasoned mayo), fresh cilantro, and crowned with caramelized onions. $8.95
Paseo, Seattle WA

Omg, this sandwich was AMAZING! It had everything that I love, and it was overflowing with flavor. I could eat this every day. I’d probably die of a heart attack, but at least I’d die happy. Hehe. 🙂

Breakfast #2 – Boracay Regency

Breakfast #2 - Boracay Regency
Ham, grapefruit, beef, skinless longanisa, bacon, chicken nuggets, and garlic rice.
Boracay Regency, Boracay PHILIPPINES

Omg, I ate SO much for breakfast that morning! I really liked the options so I went all out and even had items from the dessert section. I think it’s OK to over-eat when you’re on vacation, hehe.

Breakfast #2 - Boracay Regency
Chow mein, egg omelet, skinless longanisa, potato, French toast, blueberry cream cheese danish, and sweet roll.

Boracay Regency view
Interesting view from the Main Wing of the hotel. The abandoned tower in the middle is actually some person’s hut now.

Breakfast #1 - Boracay Regency
Pancit, fried egg, ham, chicken sausage, bacon, corned beef, beef cubano, and garlic rice.
Boracay Regency, Boracay PHILIPPINES

Wow, I was impressed at how many different items they had available for the breakfast buffet at the Regency. I only had a sampling each morning but there was a lot to choose from. They also rotated a lot of the items from day to day. The food was kept pretty warm and the service was great. I really enjoyed breakfasts at this hotel!

Congee - Boracay Regency

Breakfast pastries – Tous Les Jours

Breakfast pastries - Tous Les Jours
Banh lop choco. Chocolate chip pastry. 13,000 VND
Banh lop man. Mi ham cheese pastry. Each 9,000 VND
Tous Les Jours, Ho Chi Minh City VIETNAM

I don’t think we really needed these pastries, but it was hot walking outside and we needed to use a bathroom so we ducked into Tous Les Jours for air conditioning, cold drinks and a potty break. Lol! The pastries were unplanned, delicious treats! I did get scolded for taking pics of their products inside the store though. I’m still not completely sure why but I assumed it was competitor/ownership issue.

Farmers ham sandwich – Cafe France

Farmers ham sandwich - Cafe France
With brie cheese, lettuce, tomato, and raspberry jam on wheat bread. 250 PHP
Cafe France, Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL)

This sandwich was a bit different. I had mixed feelings about the raspberry jam. One the one hand, I liked the fruity component, but I also thought that it was maybe too sweet for the sandwich. The balance was off.
