Dimsum combination – Mr. Choi Kitchen

Dimsum combination - Mr. Choi Kitchen
Fried spring roll, fried shrimp dumpling, shrimp and pork siomai, chicken siomai, japanese siomai, fried gyoza, and dumpling hakaw. 305 PHP
Mr. Choi Kitchen, Manila PHILIPPINES

This was decent. It was a good selection from their limited dim sum options at a great price. It’s not dim sum that you’re going to write home, but it gets the job done in terms of giving you different flavors/textures and filling you up. A lot of the pieces seemed dry to me though.

Paseo press sandwich – Paseo

Paseo press sandwich - Paseo
Succulent morsels of roasted pork nestled atop sweet banana peppers, draped with sheer slices of smoked ham, Swiss cheese, and caramelized onions, all melted together between a hot press. On a lightly tasted baguette slathered with aioli (seasoned mayo), fresh cilantro, and crowned with caramelized onions. $8.95
Paseo, Seattle WA

Omg, this sandwich was AMAZING! It had everything that I love, and it was overflowing with flavor. I could eat this every day. I’d probably die of a heart attack, but at least I’d die happy. Hehe. 🙂

Breakfast #4 – Boracay Regency

Breakfast #4 - Boracay Regency
Longanisa (pork sausage), garlic rice, fried egg, chicken tocino, fish nuggets with tartar sauce.
Boracay Regency, Boracay PHILIPPINES

Argh, the final breakfast in Boracay! It was an awesome island visit and I hope to be back in the future. AND this was probably my favorite breakfast options during our stay at the Regency, so it was a great to end on a positive note.

Caribbean roast sandwich – Paseo

Caribbean roast sandwich - Paseo
Pork shoulder coated in Paseo marinade and slow roasted ’til falling into succulent morsels. On a lightly tasted baguette slathered with aioli (seasoned mayo), fresh cilantro, pickled jalapenos, crisp romaine lettuce and crowned with caramelized onions. $8.50
Paseo, Seattle WA

Now this is what I call a sandwich! This place is amazing and the sandwiches are killer! The pork is SO tender and flavorful. It’s a messy endeavor to eat this monster, but it’s completely worth it. NOMS!

Breakfast #3 - Boracay Regency
Beef, pork, garlic rice, scrambled eggs, bacon, pancit.
Boracay Regency, Boracay PHILIPPINES

Ugh, I couldn’t stop filling my breakfast plate with SO much food every morning! I really didn’t have to eat so much and I wasn’t even that hungry, but I couldn’t pass up on tasting a little bit of everything. Hehe!

Breakfast #3 - Boracay Regency
Waffle, ube (purple yam) bun, fruit, cheese bun.

Sisig rice – Mesa

Sisig rice - Mesa
Stir fried rice tossed with pork sisig and topped with fried egg. 130 PHP
Mesa, Boracay PHILIPPINES

This was good, but I wish that there was more pork sisig tossed in. It really just tasted like regular fried rice and I missed a lot of the sisig flavor. I do love a runny egg on anything though!

My Fish Spa
People getting the dead skin on their feet eaten by fish in the tank at My Fish Spa. Don’t know if I’d like this. 🙂

Breakfast #2 – Boracay Regency

Breakfast #2 - Boracay Regency
Ham, grapefruit, beef, skinless longanisa, bacon, chicken nuggets, and garlic rice.
Boracay Regency, Boracay PHILIPPINES

Omg, I ate SO much for breakfast that morning! I really liked the options so I went all out and even had items from the dessert section. I think it’s OK to over-eat when you’re on vacation, hehe.

Breakfast #2 - Boracay Regency
Chow mein, egg omelet, skinless longanisa, potato, French toast, blueberry cream cheese danish, and sweet roll.

Boracay Regency view
Interesting view from the Main Wing of the hotel. The abandoned tower in the middle is actually some person’s hut now.

Vegetable and pork steamed dumplings – Shanghai Dumpling King

Vegetable and pork steamed dumplings - Shanghai Dumpling King
10 pieces $5.50
Shanghai Dumpling King, San Francisco

I still can’t believe how cheap all the dumplings are here! You get ten delicious dumplings for under six bucks! This is why I love these small, random dumpling shops in San Francisco. These dumplings were really good. I loved the sauce and the ginger/chive topping they add to the dish. Perhaps they were steamed too long though because the skins were super soft and fell apart quite easily.

Bucatini with meatballs – Mozzeria

Bucatini with meatballs - Mozzeria
Veal-pork meatball, pomodoro, grana padano. Pre fixe menu
Mozzeria, San Francisco CA

Finally, something that was delicious at Mozzeria! I loved the texture of the pasta. It had a nice bite and was beautifully made. The meatballs were nice and big, and super juicy and flavorful. Unlike the other things I’ve posted from here, I’d eat this again.

Mini lumpia – White Moon Bar

Mini lumpia - White Moon Bar
Deep fried lumpia with pork filling and served with sweet chili sauce. 280 PHP
White Moon Bar, Manila PHILIPPINES

These were actually labeled “spring rolls” on the menu which is totally weird since we’re in the Philippines! I think everyone knows what lumpia is. Anyway, these were super thin so they didn’t have much filling. It was like eating rolled up, fried lumpia wrappers. Lame. And the sweet chili sauce was straight from the bottle.
