Barbecued boneless white meat sauteed with herbs, spices and tomatoes. $12.95

This tikka masala was good. It had a rich flavor and the chicken was tender so it made for a tasty lunch.

Lamb curry and potatoes in hot curry sauce. $13.95
North India, San Francisco CA
The flavor of this lamb vindaloo was good, but the lamb could have been more tender. There was a decent amount of lamb and potatoes though.
Sliced angus beef, onion, green onion, udon, Muracci’s curry soup. $11.95
Muracci’s Japanese Curry & Grill, San Francisco CA
This was on the heavy side, but it was pretty tasty. I wish there was more udon noodles in there though, but I was glad that there was a good amount of sliced beef. Yum!
Vegetarian Indian curry with potato and cauliflower. $7.99
Hyderabadi Biryani Corner, Herndon VA
I thought I’d mix it up with a vegetarian dish. This was really good especially since I love potatoes in curries. Mmm…

Hyderabadi Biryani Corner, Herndon VA
I liked this fish curry. It had a great flavor and the fish was tender and juicy. I just wish there was more fish in the curry.
With brown rice and hot curry. $10.45
Muracci’s Japanese Curry & Grill, San Francisco CA
The price has gone up a dollar since I was last purchased this dish. That’s not insignificant for lunch prices in the FiDi. The food is still pretty good, and I crave Japanese curry every once in a while I will say that the cuts of beef that I got this time around were sinewy and kinda tough.
Rice, steamed vegetables, roll, Treacle toffee ice cream. Complimentary
Rome (FCO) to Chicago (ORD), United Airlines
This wasn’t very good. The chicken curry was ok, the rice was dry, the radicchio salad was gross, the roll was a throwaway, and the ice cream was marginal. Hmm… United can definitely do better.
Sweet red curry with bell pepper, basil leaves and coconut milk. $8.95
Chada Thai Cuisine, Palm Springs CA
Meh, this panang curry was more yellow than I’m used to. They also added zucchini which wasn’t indicated on the menu description. It was also one of the most watery panang curries I’ve had. Another failure in my book…
Beef, onions and peanuts. $12
Thai House Express, San Francisco CA
This panang curry was on the salty side but I still liked the overall flavor of it. I just wish the slices of beef were less gristly and and a bit more tender.
Singha beer. $5
Spicy young jack fruit curry. Northern-style curry base, fresh and dried spices, and chicken. $10.95
Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas NV
This curry was different from others I’ve tried. The young jack fruit had an interesting texture and flavor (I guess I’m used to sweetened jack fruit in syrup). It was pretty refreshing though, but I wish that had delivered the spiciness that the menu description promised.
Side of rice.
Fried pork cutlet with curry, vegetables and rice. With additional tempura side. $12
Wasabi Bistro, San Francisco CA
Japanese curries can be really rich and heavy, but this dish was nice and balanced. I liked the addition of the vegetables to help neutralize the richness of the curry sauce and fried pork. And you can’t say no to pickled daikons!
Fried shrimp and assorted vegetables.
Sutro Tower as the fog rolls in, Castro.
With curry sauce. 240 PHP
Mr. Choi Kitchen, Manila PHILIPPINES
So this was really pieces of Chinese bbq pork with yellow curry sauce over steamed rice. Huh, not what I expected. It tasted fine, but the curry sauce was really heavy so I really couldn’t eat very much.
