The Rebel Within muffin - Craftsman & Wolves
Savory muffin with asiago cheese, green onion, Easton sausage, and soft-boiled egg in the center. $7
Craftsman & Wolves, San Francisco CA

The Rebel Within muffin - Craftsman & Wolves
This amazing creation by chef William Werner has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast items ever! I swear it tastes like Thanksgiving. The outer coating tastes like a delicious, moist stuffing. This muffin is served room temperature, but I bet it would taste exceptional if warmed up beforehand. I will have to take one home next time and throw it in the oven for a little bit.

The Rebel Within muffin - Craftsman & Wolves
The surprise egg with a runny yolk is a beautiful sight to behold! I would normally say that seven dollars is too much to pay for a mere muffin, but it’s super filling and is pretty much a meal in it of itself. Noms!

Sightglass Coffee, Blueboon blend
Sightglass Coffee, Blueboon blend. $2.50
Everybody raves about Sightglass coffee, but I’m not particularly impressed. The coffee is definitely smooth, but is too weak for my taste.

Morning in Dolores Park
My baby-girl accompanies me to Dolores Park to enjoy the crisp morning and my Rebel Within, hehe.

Yuzu shio ramen – Ken Ken Ramen

Yuzu shio ramen - Ken Ken Ramen
Clean and refreshing. Salt base ramen with Japanese yuzu citrus pepper, mizuna greens, pork and chicken stock. A slow cooked traditional Japanese style ramen. Topped with beautifully braised pork (cha-shu), nori, “onsen” soft boiled egg and assorted veggies. Home style noodles with imported flour from Hokkaido. $11
Ken Ken Ramen, San Francisco CA

Um, I’m not sure that I liked this. I always equate ramen with dark, rich, warm, savory, comforting flavors. The yuzu and mizuna gave this soup such a bright citrusy-y flavor that it seemed odd to me for ramen.

Purple bougainvillea flowers (Nyctaginaceae), 24th Street
Purple bougainvillea flowers (Nyctaginaceae), 24th Street. This is a popular garden plant in San Francisco! We even have a large one in our back yard.

Duck confit and potato hash – The Girl & The Fig

Duck confit and potato hash - The Girl & The Fig
Poached eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, onion, carrot, scallion. $15
The Girl & The Fig, Sonoma CA

This was very tasty. The duck confit had great flavor and the hash was beautifully made. The grilled scallion was a nice addition!

Mission San Francisco de Solano
Mission San Francisco de Solano. This old church is just a block from The Girl & The Fig. It is the northernmost Alta California Franciscan mission.

Eggs benedict – The Girl & The Fig

Eggs benedict - The Girl & The Fig
Poached eggs, applewood-smoked ham, hollandaise, Italian parsley, red bliss potato home fries, on house-made focaccia. $12
The Girl & The Fig, Sonoma CA

I was a little disappointed by this. The hollandaise sauce was bright and delicious, I loved the smoked ham, and the eggs were poached beautifully but the focaccia wasn’t toasted enough and got really wet and doughy from the hollandaise. The potatoes were also dry and flavorless. The small, chewy pieces also made them a chore to eat.

Cumberland scotch egg – Waitrose

Cumberland scotch egg - Waitrose
Whole free range egg encased in fresh Cumberland pork sausage meat and coated with breadcrumbs. £1.15
Waitrose, London ENGLAND

Cumberland scotch egg - Waitrose
Another heavy artery clogging bomb! Gotta love it, I do! I was afraid to microwave it because it might burst, but thankfully it didn’t.

Covent Garden Market
Covent Garden Market. There are plenty of shops to keep you occupied in this shopping area jam packed with tourists! I purchased a cute decorative tile in the Apple Market.

Scrambled eggs and sausages – The Abbott Lodge

Scrambled eggs and sausages - The Abbott Lodge
With another slice of “bacon”. Complimentary
The Abbott Lodge, Dublin IRELAND

Again, a little different from the breakfast foods I’m used to. The eggs were scrambled really fine, if that makes sense. And the sausage has such an odd texture, it’s very soft like Vienna sausages. I’m glad that there was a slight sear on the outside otherwise I don’t think I would have eaten much of it. Ketchup was definitely my fried, lol!

Dairy Land Cuisine pure butter - The Abbott Lodge
Dairy Land Cuisine pure butter. I think the clean, simple packaging is cute!

A Spoonful of Irish sugar packets - The Abbott Lodge

A Spoonful of Irish sugar packets. These sachets have cute Irish sayings on the back like “Beauty does not boil the pot” and “The man with boots does not have to worry about where he puts his feet”. Some are funny, but some are just confusing, lol!

William Smith O'Brien statue, by Thomas Farrell

William Smith O’Brien statue, by Thomas Farrell, O’Connell Street. This street has many statues of political figures. O’Brien was an Irish Nationalist and Member of Parliament and leader of the Young Ireland movement. I snapped this quick pic from the Dublin “Green” Bus Tour.

Bacon and eggs breakfast – The Abbott Lodge

Bacon and eggs breakfast - The Abbott Lodge
Fried eggs and “bacon”. Complimentary
The Abbott Lodge, Dublin IRELAND

It always tickles me how food varies depending on where you eat it. For instance, I would never call this “bacon”. For me, I’d call them fried, fatty ham slices. The pepper is also WAY too powdery for my taste.

Batch bread toast - The Abbott Lodge
Toasted batch bread with strawberry jam. Mmm, I do love the bread they have in Ireland. It’s super airy and flavorful.

Assorted Hartley's jams and marmalades - The Abbott Lodge
Assorted Hartley’s jams and marmalades. These are cute!

Wellington Monument obelisk, Phoenix Park

Wellington Monument obelisk, Phoenix Park. This is the tallest obelisk in Europe and the second tallest in the world, second only to the Washington Monument. Phoenix Park is quite large and makes for a great quick getaway from downtown Dublin.

Egg sandwich – Dolores Park Cafe

Egg sandwich - Dolores Park Cafe
Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese on an English muffin. $4.95
Dolores Park Cafe, San Francisco CA

This simple breakfast sandwich was delicious probably because there was a lot of butter involved, both on the English muffin and eggs. Mmm!

Coffee - Dolores Park Cafe

Coffee with cream and sugar. $2

The windy Lombard Street

The windy Lombard Street. Such a tourist trap but even I have driven down this thing, lol! I feel sorry for the homes on this street, especially since it’s one-way.

Huevos rancheros – Cantina Loredo

Huevos rancheros - Cantina Loredo
Sunny side up eggs topped with ranchero sauce and cheese, refried beans, homestyle potatoes, and flour tortillas. $6.99
Cantina Loredo, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

Omg, the potatoes were the best part – nice and spicy from the roasted peppers. That was a nice surprise! The rest tasted good too, but pretty standard.

Ham scrambler – Toast Eatery

Ham scrambler - Toast Eatery
Scrambled eggs with ham, tomato, green onions, and swiss cheese. Served with hashbrowns and fruit (pineapple, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, cantaloupe, honeydew melon). $11
Toast Eatery, San Francisco CA

Although the fruit is an extra $1.50 substitution, I like that they include plenty of berries! I hate it when restaurants only give you melons as a fruit bowl.

Golden Gate Bridge
Beautiful San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge from the Marin Headlands.
