I just love the tacos at Cala. They’re always so tasty and such great quality. Of these three, I especially liked the trout and potato adobo. It was a nice change from your typical taco fillings. I also love the salsas that they have. I could eat these all day!

Fried cheese taco & Shrimp taco – Judie’s Tacos Locos

Sauteed shrimp topped with cabbage, sour cream, avocado, and fresh green tomatillo salsa. $4.50

I liked both of these tacos, but the fried cheese taco was certainly different and very fun to eat. I enjoyed the crispy-gooey texture of the fried cheese and the carnitas were also flavorful. That’s not to say that the shrimp taco not tasty too. 🙂

I miss Taco Wednesdays at The Castro Republic! The tacos were so cheap, and yet they were of good quality and variety. Alas, I’ve moved to a neighborhood further away and have changed gyms. 😦

Trout tostadas – Cala

Trout tostadas - Cala
With chipotle, avocado, and fried leeks. $16
Cala, San Francisco CA

These were pretty tasty, and I thought that the fried leeks were a great component. I thought that the texture of the trout was verging on the slimy side, but that didn’t stop me from devouring these little bites!
