Another yummy set of beautiful cocktails. The service at Waterfront Cafe was very friendly and perfectly situated along the inlet near the Chamberlain Bridge.

Random elephant ride at the Highland Adventure Weather Station in the middle of the island. It was probably defunct, but I like the weathered look of it. We had taken a taxi tour around the island with a hilariously outspoken driver named Angela. We learned that she doesn’t eat rabbit because a skinned rabbit looks like a human baby, and she doesn’t eat shark because she had recently witnessed a butchered shark with a human hand in its belly. Lol!

These drinks were absolutely delicious and exemplified a true vacation. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy yummy girly drinks on a warm tropical island?!

BB’s Crabback is located at the southwestern end of The Crenage, past the last ship in the picture. There’s not much to do along this road besides dodge spice traders, but it makes for a beautiful stroll.

These were sad excuses for cocktails, which makes it even more sad because this was the first meal of our Caribbean vacation. The cheap, sheet metal cups were the size of thimbles. I want to say that that is a good thing because you don’t have to force down much of these sugar-water abominations, but because it takes forever to order and even longer to receive them, I wanted more volume to tide me over before we could order replacements. If you’re ever in Old San Juan, DO NOT go to this restaurant unless you want horrible drinks and even worse food. I left feeling like a sucker.

Project 365: Day 91

Ugh, I’m SO tired of fried food right now (I didn’t think I’d ever say that, lol)! I decided to hit Subway for lunch instead of going to a local fast food restaurant. There are no healthy options for lunch nearby my Charleston work location. Perhaps there are some further away, but I only have so much time during lunchtime to drive somewhere and get food. For dinner, I had leftovers from last night. The one thing that is saving this trip is that the weather is really nice. That’s keeping me motivated to work out.

This was the trip that we learned that these cocktails were called Rose Kennedy’s. We had been ordering them as “vodka soda with a splash of cran”, silly us! 🙂

Wow, this drink was a meal! I loved the boot-shaped glass that it came in and they give you plenty of pickled veggies.

I loved the color of this mimosa. I just wish that it has a more intense blood orange flavor. It tasted a little bland.

Project 365: Day 65

So I’ve recently returned from an 11-day trip to Puerto Rico/cruise to the southern Caribbean. I gladly didn’t have internet during the trip, but now I’m completely slammed with a huge backlog of posts that I need to complete. I also couldn’t post anything for Project 365 so this is what I’m gonna do from now on. I won’t be posting a pic from that particular day for my Project 365 posts, but I will continue to use these posts as journal/daily entries. I’ll try to catch up on all my posts, but please be patient.  🙂

This margarita was a bit boring compared to the 7 spice margarita. There also wasn’t very much tequila so it lacked any kind of punch.

Legendary cocktails – Hubbard Grille

“Hubbard Grille was proud to host our ‘Become Legendary’ cocktail-naming contest in which patrons submitted cocktail names. Fans voted & celebrity judges deliberated, listed below are the nine newly named cocktails, try one and enjoy! All cocktails are $10.” – Hubbard menu

But on Sundays, the cocktails are only $5. Heck yeah! I liked that the cocktails were tried were very different and all of them tasty. Sundays at Hubbard are the way to go!

We sat at one of the tables next to the bar that has a couple beer spouts attached. Unfortunately, they were experiencing a glitch in their system to the spouts were working that day, but it’s a great idea. Apparently your table is charged by the amount of beer that you pour.

Cocktails – RN74

It was our first time here at RN74, and it’s super cute! I loved the old school train station board that lists the wine prices every hour or so. The service was great, but we were seating in a tight row of 2-tops so Silverfox got a little annoyed and claustrophobic. We tried a few of their cocktails and they were pretty good!

This was very interesting. It tasted dark, rich, and slightly sweet.

I enjoyed these cocktails at Fish & Farm but I don’t think they were worth $12 a pop. You can get delicious, more intricate cocktails and other places for less money. And you’ll get larger pours!

This was a random choice for a Christmas eve dinner, but I’m not traditional in many ways, lol! The food was hit or miss, but the drinks were very good overall. I loved the creativity!

All you need is a warm beach and a beautiful sunset!

Cocktails – Zuni Cafe

Finally made it to Zuni Cafe for Sunday brunch. I’ve been here before but only for a quick meal. We had reservations for when they opened and there was a line outside when we arrived. I think people who didn’t have reservations decided to come early to see if they could get a table. We were seated upstair at a table for 2 in the corner. I loved it! We were next to the window and there was some privacy where we were. The table next to us wasn’t even seated until near the end of our meal, score!

The service, of course, was great and the food was absolutely amazing! We had to have mimosas and a few other cocktail, lol!

You’ll never see me ordering a bloody Mary, but Silverfox had this and it was VERY tasty. I actually really liked it and would order it for myself next time. It had a great kick and the balsamic vinegar gave it a great flavor. Noms!

Aperol is an orange flavored Italian apertif. Not sure what else they put in the cocktail, but it was super tasty!

A Sunday brunch standard. These were a lot nicer than the ones I usually get for Sunday Funday bottomless mimosas. They must use real orange juice in these and better quality champagne.
