Cherry tomato, aged balsamic vinegar, basil oil, served with crostoli (fried dough with sugar). Pre fixe menu
Mozzeria, San Francisco CA
Ugh, what a disappointment! I love burrata, but this version had none of the characteristics that make the cheese so lovely. I don’t know if they make this in-house, but it wasn’t very good. This burrata was hard and chewy like a plain mozzarella, not soft and super creamy as it should have been. You could cut through this sad disc and it would hold its form without oozing out onto the plate. This made me really sad! 😦
Primaterra Primitivo, house red wine.
Tall flatsedge (Cyperus eragrostis, Cyperaceae), Bon Tempe Lake.

Curbside Cafe, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was so tasty! I love simple and beautiful dishes like this. It’s all about the wonderful ingredients because there’s no fancy preparation or a million ingredients to distract you. Curbside did a great job with this plate!

Grilled crostini, basil chiffonade, balsamic vinegar. $15
The Tropicale, Palm Springs CA
Noms, I love burrata cheese! The heavy cream makes it SO soft, creamy and silky smooth. I was actually expecting large heirloom tomato steaks, but these cherry tomatoes were more fun to eat.
With avocado, greens (mache), parmesan crisp, pineapple and balsamic reduction. $13
Oswald, Santa Cruz CA
Mmm, this was very tasty! My one complaint was that the whipped avocado and picked crab mixture both had smooth and silky textures. I wish the avocado had been a little more firm to stand up to the crab (and feel less like baby food).
Hotel Paradox entrance vegetation.
Pureed eggplant, padron, peppers, roasted tomatoes, aged balsamic vinegar. Family style supper $46 per person
Staple and Fancy, Seattle WA
This chicken was super moist and tender, but I would have liked it more if the skin had been crispier. I love padron peppers so it was great to have a pile of them on the board, and the pureed eggplant was surprisingly tasty.

Buffalo mozzarella With shaved golden bottarga (silver mullet roe) and watercress. Family style supper $46 per person
Staple and Fancy, Seattle WA
Mmm, I love all cheeses but homemade mozzarella is particularly delicious! It’s SO light with a beautifully silky texture. Yes please!
Baguette with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Complimentary
Rachel the bronze pig, Pike Place Market. How can you not love a 550-pound bronze cast piggy bank?!
Mixed medley heirloom tomatoes, rustic basil pesto, arugula, balsamic reduction. $12.75
Lark Creek Grill, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Mmm, I love heirloom tomatoes! This was actually a really great dish from an airport restaurant, but everything is better at T2 at SFO. They had a great tomato variety in the dish too. Noms!
