Passionfruit mimosa – The Little Chihuahua

Passionfruit mimosa - The Little Chihuahua

Salted rim and garnished with oranges. $5
The Little Chihuahua, San Francisco

What’s brunch without a mimosa?! I think I had just gotten out of the gym, so I was very thirsty. Hehe. This was delicous and refreshing. The service at the Noe Valley location of Little Chihuahua is always sweet.

Mmm, I love the thali plate at Kasa! You get so much delicious food for a great price. Everything has a lot of flavor and the spicy great sauce is amazing.

Big Brother is watching you artwork, Market Street
Big Brother is watching you artwork, Market Street. I like that they decorated the construction pathway along this section. I don’t think Hollywood Billiards has ever been open since I’ve lived in this city.

Housemade Pimm’s Cup – Starbelly

Housemade Pimm's Cup - Starbelly

Served over ice and garnished with cucumber and basil. $8
Starbelly, San Francisco CA

Wow, I love the presentation! The longitudinal slice of cucumber looks really pretty especially with the basil leaves peeking through. And the Pimm’s Cup tasted great, very refreshing!

Jungle mosaic mural, 24th and York Street Mini Park
Jungle mosaic mural, 24th and York Street Mini Park. This is such a cute mini park and the artwork is so colorful and fun!

Huevos rancheros – Cantina Loredo

Huevos rancheros - Cantina Loredo
Sunny side up eggs topped with ranchero sauce and cheese, refried beans, homestyle potatoes, and flour tortillas. $6.99
Cantina Loredo, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

Omg, the potatoes were the best part – nice and spicy from the roasted peppers. That was a nice surprise! The rest tasted good too, but pretty standard.

“Felino” malbec – Starbelly

"Felino" malbec - Starbelly

Red wine by Paul Hobbs, Vina Cobos, Mendoza, Argentina 2010. $11
Starbelly, San Francisco CA

I love the back patio at Starbelly. It’s very relaxing back there, and the servers are usually great. The 2-top tables are pretty small though so you definitely have to shuffle your plates and glasses around as things come out.

Casa Rita margarita – Cantina Loredo

Casa Rita margarita - Cantina Loredo

Signature margarita is a premium blend of Giro Silver Tequila by Sauza, Cointreau orange liqueur, and fresh squeezed lemon and lime juices, salted rim. $9.05
Cantina Loredo, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

This margarita tasted great, but I wish they gave you more of it! The glass is thick and heavy, but there’s not much volume. I guess I can’t complain too much for an airport cocktail that’s less than ten bucks.

Spicy grilled catfish – Cracker Barrel

Spicy grilled catfish - Cracker Barrel
Two farm-raised catfish fillets, macaroni n’ cheese and country green beans. $9.69
Cracker Barrel Restaurant, North Charleston SC

Oh well for my attempt to order something healthy. These catfish fillets were pan fried in LOTS of butter. They tasted good, but I really wasn’t in the mood for another heavy meal. I can’t pass up mac & cheese though! This version was pretty good!

Turnip greens - Cracker Barrel
Turnip greens with pork bits.

Corn muffins - Cracker Barrel
Made-from-scratch corn muffins and butter.

Classic barbecue baby-back ribs – Ruby Tuesday

Classic barbecue baby-back ribs - Ruby Tuesday
Half-rack slow-cooked for hours then covered with tangy barbecue sauce. With fresh grilled green beans and roasted spaghetti squash. $13.99
Ruby Tuesday, North Charleston SC

Bbq ribs are my weakness! These were good, but definitely on the salty side. I tried ordering “healthier” side options, but they arrived totally drenched in butter anyway so that was pointless.

Garlic cheese biscuits - Ruby Tuesday
Made-from-scratch garlic cheese biscuits. Mmm, these were actually very tasty! They were small but I’m sure they were loaded with calories.

Classic Sauza Gold margarita – Ruby Tuesday

Classic Sauza Gold margarita - Ruby Tuesday

“Get serious about kicking back with our handcrafted cocktails. These classic recipes make the most of our premium spirits, and at $5 all day, every day, even the price will help you relax.”
Ruby Tuesday, North Charleston SC

Of course, this was weak and watered down. I was really craving the salt though. These chain restaurants never seem to make very good drinks, but I knew that before ordering. Oh well…

Italiano sandwich – Bella Napoli

Italiano sandwich - Bella Napoli
Handcrafted, made-to-order sandwich with Genoa salami, capicola, sopressata, and provolone cheese with lettuce and sliced tomatoes. Served with a side salad, balsamic vinaigrette. $6.99
Bella Napoli, North Charleston SC

Ugh, this sandwich was kinda boring. There was nothing special about the sandwich or the restaurant. I guess it’s a good value if you can stay awake despite the boredom.
