Shrimp tacos – Poquito

Shrimp tacos - Poquito
On jicama wrapper with pickled slaw, guacamole, and guanabana (soursop) reduction. $9

This was very good and I loved the jicama wrapper. Great for a low-carb diet! The shrimp were nicely cooked and I simply devoured these tacos.

Smile car

“Smile” car. This killer car was parked beside the Mission Dolores. I think they spelled “smile” backwards so that it reads correctly if you’re looking at it from your rearview mirror. Hehe!

Hemmingway cocktail – Fork Cafe

Hemmingway cocktail - Fork Cafe

Rum, grapefruit, lime, splash of Luxardo over ice. $9
Fork Cafe, San Francisco CA

This cocktail was really refreshing! It had a beautiful color and definitely evoked a place with a warmer climate where Hemmingway might have traveled. If it was a little less sweet, I would have love it even more.

Mmm, these little morsels were SO yummy! Deviled eggs grossed me out as a kid, but now I can’t stop ordering at restaurants. I’m still a little weary of them as potlucks, lol!

I don’t think I can review this sandwich fairly because I got it to-go and it wilted a little before I was able to eat it. I will say that the catfish was flavorful, but a little greasy.

Not sure what made this dish El Salvadorian style, but it tasted decent. Perhaps adding queso fresco and chorizo? The home fries were cook beautifully though and oh so flavorful!

Black and blue mojito - Eureka Restaurant and Lounge

Smirnoff blueberry vodka, muddled blackberries, mint, lime and soda. $12

I like the idea of this cocktail, but it was a bit too sour for me. If they had used sweet, naturally ripe blackberries, I bet this would have kicked ass!

Barbie car
We were walking in the Mission one night on our way to a comedy show and spotted this random car decorated and covered all in Barbie dolls. Everyone was checking it out and I couldn’t help but snap a couple pics with my iPhone.

Low gravity mango sunrise – The WestWood

Low gravity mango sunrise - The WestWood

Mango flavored mimosa. Pitcher $28

As mimosas in the city go, this is one of the more expensive ones and for no apparent reason. It tasted fine, but it wasn’t worth the extra cost and the carafe is even on the small side.
