Balancoire scramble – Balancoire

Balancoire scramble - Balancoire
Seasonal veggies, andouille sausage, pepper jack cheese, potatoes, mixed greens. $12
Balancoire, San Francisco CA

I don’t know how this place is as a club, but as a restaurant it SUCKED! Yelp, you failed me on this one. The food was below marginal and the service was cringingly awkward. These scrambled eggs were super runny and overly cheesy. The potatoes were barely cooked and I think the salad had cheap bottled salad dressing on it. I did like the andouille sausage but even they were inconsistently charred and cooked. Boo!

Biscuits - Balancoire
Biscuits. Compimentary
Omg, these were literally jockey pucks. I’m not sure why they even bothered serving them because they felt and tasted like they were over a week old!

Chicken sausage - Solaire Restaurant + Bar

These sausages were pretty sad especially when they cost four bucks!

Frisco benedict – Kitchen Story

Frisco benedict - Kitchen Story
Chicken mango sausage, avocado, cherry pepper, meyer lemon hollandaise served on levain toast with rainbow potatoes and fruit. $13
Kitchen Story, San Francisco CA

Omg, Kitchen Story has redeemed itself with brunch! My experience here this time around was night and day (literally) compared to the time I had dinner here. The food was really good and the service rocked! A friend and I sat at the counter and we were never made to feel like we needed to leave even after were had finished all our food. I felt kind of bad because there were so many people waiting to get seated, but the servers just kept refilling our bottomless mimosa and we kept drinking them, lol. Thank you Kitchen Story for proving me wrong!

Pepperoni and sausage pizza – Escape From New York Pizza

Pepperoni and sausage - Escape From New York Pizza
Mmm! When I don’t have time for a real dinner between hanging out with friends in the Castro, I can always drop by Escape From New York for a quick delicious, thin(ish) crust pizza. My favorite is still their potato garlic, but it’s difficult to go back to your friends with garlic breath, lol!

Portuguese sausage scramble – Rebel Kitchen

Portuguese sausage scramble - Rebel Kitchen
Eggs, potato, onion, cheese. Served with wheat toast. $7.85
Rebel Kitchen, Kealakekua HI

This was a random restaurant that we stopped at on our way to kayak in Kealakekua Bay. I’m glad we did because the service was fabulous and the food was simple and delicous. My scramble had SO much flavor! And paired with Kona coffee, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the morning.

Kurobuta sausage teppan yaki – Izakaya Takonoki

Kurobuta sausage teppan yaki - Izakaya Takonoki
Grilled pork sausage. 4 pcs $4.50
Izakaya Takonoki, Honolulu HI

This was not the pork sausage I expected when I ordered this. I’ve had kurobuta sausage at other restaurants and they were always more substantial and meaty. The tiny sausages we received are the kind you find vacuum-packed at Asian markets looking pink and squishy. I didn’t enjoy this, and the mustard didn’t help very much.

Salt Kitchen and Tasting Bar, Honolulu HI

Mmm, this was heaven on a plate for a meat-lover like me! I think the smoked beef tongue was my favorite! It was SO tender and had a great texture and flavor, noms! The trotter croquettes were also really fun. I wish the pic would’ve come out better since this dish was so yummy.
