Big King meal deal – Burger King

Big King meal deal - Burger King
Big King hamburger with 2 flame grilled beef patties, crispy lettuce, sliced onions, pickles, American cheese and Big King sauce. Meal with small fries and small Diet Coke. £3.99
Burger King, London ENGLAND

I guess BK in London has a different “King of the Day” sandwich for each day of the week. Mondays are Big King cheeseburger days! The burger seems much smaller than how the product description on their website reads. Hmm… It tasted like Burger King though! Sometimes fast food chains taste differently in other countries, but even the ketchup tasted the same here.

Video and neon displays of Picadilly Circus. Not quite Times Square but it’s still cute. Love the red double decker bus in the pic.

Dublin coddle – The Bachelor Inn

Dublin coddle - The Bachelor Inn
A traditional Irish dish of pork sausage, bacon, potato, onion, and parsley served with batch bread. €8.95
The Bachelor Inn, Dublin IRELAND

Dublin coddle - The Bachelor Inn
Mmm, this was a simple stew-like dish and VERY flavorful. I actually really liked the batch bread! It’s super light and airy and they lather it with plenty of butter. The Bachelor Inn is a cute place along the River Liffey walkway and the service was excellent (and good looking too)! We all recognized that out waiter was a diamond among the not-so attractive local population, lol! Would definitely recommend dropping in for a pint or some vittles!

"The Prick with a Stick" James Joyce statue

“The Prick with a Stick” James Joyce statue, North Earl Street. This statue is along the shopping corridor in north Dublin, not too far from where we were staying. There’s plenty of shops and excellent people watching, lol!

Pasta all’ matriciana – Ristorante Romano

Pasta all' matriciana - Ristorante Romano
Rigatoni pasta, tomato based sauce made with smoked bacon, onions, tomatoes, and red chilies with basil and parsley. €13
Ristorante Romano, Dublin IRELAND

Pasta all' matriciana - Ristorante Romano
This was one of the weirdest Italian restaurants I’ve even been to. All the workers were Asian which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I will say that the food certainly had some Asian flare. They even offer sriracha as a condiment for your meal. This pasta tasted ok – I liked the deep smokey flavor of the sauce and the bite of the rigatoni. But OMG, can you make a pasta this greasy!!! I was actually disgusted. Granted I was starving so I ate everything, but I was still grossed out by what I found at the bottom of the bowl. I’ve never seen that much grease separate from a pasta dish before!

St. Patrick's Cathedral

St. Patrick’s Cathedral. We didn’t get a chance to walk inside, but this is a beautiful church from the outside especially looking at it from St. Patrick’s Park. The tulips were in full bloom!

Thrice cooked bacon – Mission Chinese Food

Thrice cooked bacon - Mission Chinese Food
Glutinous rice cakes, bitter melon, tofu skin, scallion, onion, black bean, chili oil. $11
Mission Chinese Food, San Francisco

Thrice cooked bacon - Mission Chinese Food
I really enjoy the flavor of this, but I will say that the rice cakes can end up with a slimy texture. The tofu skins are a great addition for texture and flavor as are the bitter melons. Noms!

Exiting 16th Street Bart Station. Not the cleanest station, but I do like the artwork around the entrance.

Olives burger – Todd English’s Olives

Olives burger - Todd English's Olives
Cheddar cheese, warm skordalia onion marmalade, lettuce, tomato, pickle, toasted bun, parmesan fries. $16
Todd English’s Olives, Las Vegas NV

Mmm, SO good! The beef patty was super flavorful and juicy, and I loved the onion marmalade. Those thick potato wedges with parmesan cheese were definitely addicting.

Blue cheese and pear pizza – Starbelly

Blue cheese and pear pizza - Starbelly
Point Reyes blue cheese, market pears, roasted onion, and arugula. $13
Starbelly, San Francisco CA

I usually love the pizzas at Starbelly, but I think this one was just ok. It was tasty, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve liked some of the other flavors better. I should have added their house-made bacon or something. That would have made it amazing!

Angus beef burger – Cat Cora Kitchen

Angus beef burger - Cat Cora Kitchen
Served with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles on a fresh baked bun, with sweet potato fries. $14
Cat Cora Kitchen, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Angus beef burger - Cat Cora Kitchen
I ordered with burger cooked medium/medium-rare and you can see that it’s still a little pink in the middle and super juicy, noms! I will say that the patty could have used a little more seasoning, but it was very good. The sweet potato fries were nicely fried and delicious!

Iced tea - Cat Cora Kitchen

Iced tea. $2.95

Short rib gorditas – Lolo

Short rib gorditas - Lolo
Blue corn masa pockets filled with braised short ribs, roasted three chile sauce, avocado, and pickled onions. $12
Lolo, San Francisco CA

This was about the time during our meal when they still wanted to put more food down at our table, but there was absolutely no space! I don’t want to shove food down my throat just to make room, jerks – RUDE!

Oxalis crassipes ‘Alba’ (Oxalidaceae), 18th Street. Beautiful cascading oxalis with white flowers in The Castro.

Carnitas – Lolo

Carnitas - Lolo
With organic blue corn tortilla, roasted tomatillo sauce, guacamole, pickled onions. $14
Lolo, San Francisco CA

The carnitas had a good flavor, but the blue corn tortillas were super dry and thick and there was WAY too much sauce on top. The menu said it was a “roasted tomatillo sauce”, but I think they switched it out to some kind of red pepper sauce instead. It seemed like they brought out all the tapas at once which was ridiculous since the tables were SO frickin’ tiny! Argh!

Graffiti mural, 15th Street
Graffiti mural with shark, 15th Street. I love the vibrant colors in this. The sharlk and the turtle are nice additions, lol.

Hot link scrambler – Toast Eatery

Hot link scrambler - Toast Eatery
Scrambled eggs with hot link sausage, peppers, spinach, onions, and pepper jack cheese. Served with hashbrowns and wheat toast. $9.50
Toast Eatery, San Francisco CA

I enjoy that there are 2 Toast Eateries in Noe Valley. With all the yuppies and their kids runnning around and very few brunch spots, my neighborhood definitely needs both locations. The fare is standard, but the prices are great and the atmosphere is lively.

House coffee - Toast Eatery

Sun-dried tomato cream cheese bagel – Jumpin’ Java Coffee House

Sun-dried tomato cream cheese bagel - Jumpin' Java Coffee House
On a toasted onion bagel – $2.95. Medium coffee – $1.85.
Jumpin’ Java Coffee House, San Francisco CA

Mmm, I love sun-dried tomato spread! They tend to pack it on so I’ll usually ask for “light on the cream cheese”. This time they gave a medium portion, hehe.

United States Mint, Hermann Street
United States Mint, Hermann Street. This is a view of the building from Market Street. I think it’s kind of weird that we have a working Mint in our city. You don’t hear much about it, but I wonder if they give tours?  XUA8JXQWDRXG
