Pancake “special” – Pifko Bar and Grill

Pancake "special" - Pifko Bar and Grill
Homemade potato pancakes baked with chicken, pork vegetables, mushrooms, and melted mozzarella. Domaci bramboracky s masovou smesi, zapecene s mozzarellou. €12.50
Pifko Bar and Grill, Dublin IRELAND

Another odd dish with some interesting flavors. The potato pancakes were plenty cooked and the melted mozzarella was a surprising addition. Perhaps I just need to immerse myself in Czech food so I can understand the flavors better.

Margherita pizza – Ristorante Romano

Margherita pizza - Ristorante Romano
Tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese on an organic flour crust. 12 inch pizza €8.50
Ristorante Romano, Dublin IRELAND

This pizza wasn’t very good – I guess I couldn’t expect much from an Asian/Italian restaurant in Dublin. The crust was thin, dense and it these weird stratified layers of dough. Very odd. It wasn’t very crisp either considering its thickness.

Mmm, this burger was very juicy and flavorful. It had a mild lamb taste that was not overpowering. And the garlic fries were SO delicious! This was their burger special that night so I’m glad I ordered it – a great value!

Alambre taco – El Huarache Loco

Alambre taco El Huarache Loco

Mexico City style taco. Organic corn tortilla topped with bacon, chorizo asada, bell peppers, melted mozzarella cheese, cilantro, onions, and salsa. $2.75
El Huarache Loco, San Francisco

Wow, this taco had everything on it! Don’t know if I remember melted mozzarella cheese in there, but there looks to be queso fresco in there instead. This monster had SO much flavor, but I will admit that it was greasy! It’s definitely worth a try though. It’s pretty big so 2 of them would make a large enough meal for me. Mmm!

Chard and mozzarella focaccia – Arizmendi Bakery

Project 365: Day 37

I made it through the week and having to work two 12-hour days. They asked me if I wanted to work around long day today, but I politely declined. I’m tired and want to spend time with Silverfox. I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Gonna hang out with old friends and meet new ones. And of course, EAT!

Chard and mozarella focaccia Arizmendi Bakery

Swiss chard, mozzarella cheese, red onions, bread, flour, starter salt. $3
Arizmendi Bakery, San Francisco

Yes! Arizmendi continues going back up my nommy bakery list. The last focaccia I had at Arimendi wasn’t so yummy, but this was really delicious! I love mozzarella cheese, and the chard and red onions added a flavorful sweetness. It tastes even better warmed up in the toaster oven!

Margherita pizza – Pizza Politana

Margherita Pizza Politana
Fresh out of the oven, this Margherita pizza has tomato sauce, basil, and fresh mozzarella.  I ordered it with a farm egg on top!
Pizza Politana, San Francisco

The Margherita, your classic wood-fired oven pizza, is absolutely divine on its own but I was feeling extra giddy and had a farm egg added!  Pizza Politana’s Margherita was actually very good (for the most part).  The crust was thin, chewy, airy, and had a great flavor.  The ingredients are directly sourced from local farmers and artisan producers so they are of great quality and taste amazing.  My only complaint was the blistered bottom of the dough.  I don’t know what they use, but the bottom of the crust has these oily, black blisters that have an overpowering burnt, ashy flavor.  It was sad because I really enjoyed the crust, but after a while I couldn’t get the ash flavor out of my mouth and it eventually ruined the rest of the pizza.  I would have eaten around the blisters, but the shear number made it impossible.  *sad*
