Japanese omelet “tomago” – Chambers Eat + Drink

Japanese omelet tomago - Chambers Eat + Drink
House smoked chorizo, sweet potato, cana de oveja, scallions. $12
Chambers Eat and Drink, San Francisco CA

The individual components of this plates were great, but it wasn’t cohesive. The fried cana de oveja cheese was my favorite part of this dish, I just wish everything had come together successfully.

Mascarpone stuffed deep fried French toast – Kitchen Story

Mascarpone stuffed deep fried French toast - Kitchen Story
Two eggs, bacon, fruit, served with real Vermont maple syrup and honey butter. $15
Kitchen Story, San Francisco CA

Wow, talk about decadence and a heart unhealthy meal! This was delicious though and worth every heart-clogging calorie. Lol!

Frisco benedict – Kitchen Story

Frisco benedict - Kitchen Story
Chicken mango sausage, avocado, cherry pepper, meyer lemon hollandaise served on levain toast with rainbow potatoes and fruit. $13
Kitchen Story, San Francisco CA

Omg, Kitchen Story has redeemed itself with brunch! My experience here this time around was night and day (literally) compared to the time I had dinner here. The food was really good and the service rocked! A friend and I sat at the counter and we were never made to feel like we needed to leave even after were had finished all our food. I felt kind of bad because there were so many people waiting to get seated, but the servers just kept refilling our bottomless mimosa and we kept drinking them, lol. Thank you Kitchen Story for proving me wrong!

Loco moco – Namu Gaji

Loco moco - Namu Gaji
“We love eating loco moco. A Hawaiian staple, great for hangovers.” Marin Sun Farms grassfed beef patty, dashi gravy, sunny-side up egg over rice. $12
Namu Gaji, San Francisco CA

Meh, this was a disappointment. You couldn’t taste the dashi flavor in the gravy and the portion was super small. There’s so little food that it wouldn’t begin to cure a hangover! I was also confused why this came in a paper boat while they use real boards and dinnerware for everything else. This was my first time at Namu Gaji and I was definitely NOT impressed.

Francois Pinon Vouvray - Namu Gaji

Francois Pinon Vouvray “non-dose” NV (chenin blanc). $12
This sparkling wine tasted ok, but it was such a tiny pour for twelve bucks! Sheesh!

Salmon tarte flambee – Noeteca

Salmon tarte flambee - Noeteca
Alsace inspired thin flatbread “pizza” with nova lox smoked salmon, caramelized onion, capers, dill, lemon, and creme fraiche. $12
Noeteca, San Francisco CA

Wow, this was really tasty! I don’t say this very often, but perhaps there was a bit too much toppings. The flatbread was so thin that it could barely support all the smoked salmon. I’m never one to complain about more toppings, but I can also appreciate a little balance. 🙂

Croque Josephine – Noeteca

Warm layers of savory bread pudding of smoke ham and cheese, topped with white cheese sauce and poached egg, served with mixed greens. $11.50
Noeteca, San Francisco CA

Omg, this was heaven! It was rich and decadent and SO delicious. I loved the consistency of the warm white cheese sauce and the thick slices of bread pudding were perfect. Noms!

Salade frisee aux lardons – Le P’tit Laurent

Salade frisee aux lardons - Le P'tit Laurent
Frisee salad with bacon and poached egg, croutons, sherry vinaigrette. $11
Le P’tit Laurent, San Francisco CA

This salad was very tasty! I loved the poached egg and the crunchy croutons. Perhaps some people would think this salad was a bit tart from the sherry vinaigrette but I enjoyed its brightness.

Pinot Noir - Le P'tit Laurent

Chorizo burrito – Purple Palm Restaurant

Chorizo burrito - Purple Palm Restaurant
Flour tortilla, salsa verde, manchego, potato, scrambled eggs. $15
Purple Palm Restaurant, Palm Springs CA

This was not worth fifteen bucks! The scrambled egg filling with chorizo tasted fine, but it took SO long to get this to our table that it was cold and unappetizing when it arrived. The salsa verde sauce on the bottom of the plate was gross and congealed and would attach in chunks to the bottom of the breakfast burrito. Ew!

Orange mimosas – Purple Palm Restaurant

Orange mimosas - Purple Palm Restaurant

Each $12
Purple Palm Restaurant, Palm Springs CA

So I’ve mentioned that the service here was HORRIBLE, but I forgot to mention that they also overcharged us for our mimosas. The menu stated $10, but we were charged $12. We were gonna order bloody marys, but they were out of it. What?! How is that possible? Sheesh, what a disappointment!

Coffee - Purple Palm Restaurant

Classic eggs benedict – Purple Palm Restaurant

Classic eggs benedict - Purple Palm Restaurant
With breakfast potatoes. $17
Purple Palm Restaurant, Palm Springs CA

I was really disappointed in this place! We had brunch reservations so we stood at the front hostess area for 10 minutes while the staff worked on 3 tables. We finally got fed up and just sat ourselves down. The wait staff was super slow and bored looking. Sheesh!

This eggs benedict was overpriced for what you got, and the hollandaise sauce was cold. Probably because it took forever to get it out to us. Lame – get your act together Puple Palm!

Poached eggs with wild mushrooms - Cafe Chloe
With sage-truffle beurre blanc, mixed green salad with asparagus and citrus. $12.75

Omg, another delicious brunch dish from Cafe Chloe! The sauteed wild mushrooms combined with the beurre blanc sauce and runny poached eggs created heaven on a plate. Noms!
