This “chicken” was pretty good for vegan! It was tender and juicy and I really liked the breading. The waffle had a great texture too!

This sandwich made by Hella Vegan Eats pop-up was actually pretty tasty. As you can see from my blog, I’m a total carnivore so this was a surprisingly pleasant change. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the vegan food, but they tasted great and I didn’t even miss the meat. Will it convert me to veganism? Absolutely not, lol! But I applaud HVE for the great food.

Mmm, both these glass were really tasty! The habanero cider had just the right amount of habanero flavor without getting too hot and making it unpleasant to drink. And the Imperial Red with chocolate was bold and delicious.

Mmm, these calamari were done right! They weren’t dry and over-fried and chewy. They were still tender and packed with flavor, a little heat and some sweetness. A nice early evening snack to kick off the night.

We wanted to hit a rooftop bar while in Manila so we found the Sky Deck View Bar located at The Bayleaf Intramuros hotel. The bar is really cute and you get a 360 degree view of the city. We went during happy hour so the drinks were discounted. The snacks were also pretty tasty. These truffle fries were really good and sinful. Hey, I’m still on vacation!

I’ve never had pork tongue before, only beef tongue so this was a nice little treat. The tongue had a great flavor and texture and the tonnato sauce was a delicious accompaniment. Mmm!

This bar adjacent to The Walrus and the Carpenter is really cute. There bartenders are laid back and cool, and the drinks are created and tasty. If you’re waiting for a seat next door, definitely duck into this bar and relax.

Happy hours can last for quite a while in Boracay. This one at Pat’s was form 4-8, but it’s often difficult to know whether you’re actually getting a deal since the prices are inflated from the beginning and they always seem to pour weakly during happy hour anyway. When in doubt, just stick with beer. 🙂

Huh, deconstructed nachos – interesting, lol! This is totally not what I expected and I don’t think I’ve ever had nachos served this way at a restaurant. It was actually really difficult assemble so that you got a bit of everything. It was WAY to much work to really enjoy. The marinara salsa was different, but I really didn’t like it. The cheese dip was REALLY runny, also not the way I like it for nachos. Overall, this wasn’t a very good version of an American standard.
