Bottle of Montepulciano red wine, bruschetta, and potato chips.
BAR, Rome ITALY
This wasn’t very good, but I had to come to this place for old times sake. I went here a lot during college when I took a class in Rome. I was feeling nostalgic.

Tortilla chips, 3 cheese blend, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole. $12
Escena Lounge & Grill, Palm Springs CA
Meh… This was just REALLY dry! The steak was dry, the chips were dry, the pico was dry. It’s like this thing sat under the salamander for 15 minutes before getting topped for serving. Geez!

With mussels, clams, and shrimp. €17
Napoletano’s Pantheon, Rome ITALY
This risotto was really tasty! I thought it was going to be a throw-away dish, but they packed it with plenty of nicely cooked seafood. I would order this again in a heartbeat! Mmm…

Silician pistachio & lavendar and white peach gelato.
Gelateria del Teatro, Rome ITALY
Yum, this gelato was really good! I wish I could walk around Rome just trying out all the little gelato shops and all their different flavors. I would become quite obese, but at least I’d be happy!

Rock shrimp, salted cabbage, chives, egg, red XO. $19
Mister Jiu’s, San Francisco CA
This seafood fried rice was legit! The rice was still tender, and all the ingredients were of really nice quality. Even the shrimp were juicy and not over-cooked as in most fried rice dishes. Yummy!

“Tradition” tasting menu €65
Tordomatto, Rome ITALY
Omg, the dishes just kept getting better and better. This rabbit cacciatora was simply divine. The rabbit meat was so juicy and succulent and the sauce was to die for. These are the times when I love eating!

Amuse bouche. I didn’t much care for the “olive” bite in the background.

Artichoke cream bruschetta. €4
La Biga, Rome ITALY
Um, this was ok. I don’t think I liked the texture very much. It was too wet and almost slimy. I liked the flavor of it though and the toasted bread stood up well to the artichoke spread.

Lettuce with avocado-ranch dressing, tomato-chile tortilla bowl, black beans, jack cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa and diced chicken. $12.95
Harvey’s, San Francisco CA
This is more like a chicken taco salad bowl than a chicken tostada, but I’m not really going to argue with what Harvey’s wants to call it. It was marginal.

Balls of rice with meat ragout and chicken. €8
Trattoria Sora Lella, Rome ITALY
These suppli were pretty hard on the outside, but the inside was definitely softer and really flavorful. I don’t think I’d had these before, and I really enjoyed them.

Complimentary
Residenza Gens Julia, Rome ITALY
I thought this chocolate danish was really good! The mini chocolate chips were small enough to melt in the sunshine. Mmm…

With salsa, onions, and cilantro. Each $3.25
Crazy Coyote Tacos, Banning CA
I still love the tacos here especially the fried fish taco. The thick tortillas are the best, and the special sauce they serve on the fish taco is super flavorful and yummy!

Baked lasagne with minced beef, mozzarella, tomato sauce, parmesan cheese. €11
Napoletano’s Pantheon, Rome ITALY
Just like mama used to make! Ok, my mom never made me lasagna growing up, but if she did I would hope that it tasted like this one! This tasted great – it was hot, gooey from the cheese and the meat sauce was delicious. A total winner!
