Lemon and cream dessert – Tordomatto

Lemon and cream dessert - Tordomatto
Pine nuts, limoncello. “Tradition” tasting menu €65

This was a super creative dessert, but I’m not sure that it was successful overall. I loved that it mimicked the look of an egg, but it didn’t feel satisfying on the mouth. The gelatin cellophane was odd and didn’t allow the other ingredients to blend. I liked the flavor of the dessert though.

There was just a single swirl of this spaghetti on the plate, but it was a satisfying one! The noodles were more al dente that I’m used to but it worked to hold up to the intense flavor of the sauce and the fine dried herbs on top. It was spaghetti like I’ve never tasted before!

Omg, the dishes just kept getting better and better. This rabbit cacciatora was simply divine. The rabbit meat was so juicy and succulent and the sauce was to die for. These are the times when I love eating!

Amuse bouche - Tordomatto
Amuse bouche. I didn’t much care for the “olive” bite in the background.

I’m in love with this restaurant! We went to the Vatican Museum that morning, so I checked what was nearby for lunch and chose this place. I’m SO glad I did because the food (and service) was AMAZING! We did the “traditional” tasting menu, but it was far from it. The flavors and concepts were traditional, but the techniques and presentation were contemporary and so great! Mmm…
