Omg, this was SO good! I loved the chocolate coconut flavor of the ice cream and it had a great firm texture. The macaron was also very yummy. A great afternoon treat!

With foie gras filling. Brunch five course tasting menu $55
Volt, Frederick MD
Mmm, this lil’ bite was delicious! What a fabulous way to kick off brunch. I didn’t get a lot of the chamomile flavor, which is fine since the foie gras really shined through.
“Tradition” tasting menu €65
Tordomatto, Rome ITALY
These were really yummy bites that arrived after the main dessert course. They were delicious and had were in a variety of textures which made it fun to eat while reflecting on the lovely meal that was consumed. Mmm…
The bill came in this cute metal box.
Each $3.50
Bouchon Bakery, Yountville CA
Mmm, I love macarons! Bouchon Bakery is very popular and the wait can be ridiculously long. So were these macarons worth it? Hmm, I’d say so. They were nice and soft and very flavorful without being overly sweet.
Fireman statue, Van de Leur Park.
Passion fruit, black currant, earl grey, chocolate, green tea, and raspberry. Each $1.35
Fresh Flours, Seattle WA
Omg, I’m in heaven! I bought a box of these to take to a family event because everybody loves macarons! My nieces and nephews can destroy these things in zero seconds flat. As macarons go, these were very good and the staff at Fresh Flours were great.
Figs, honey ricotta sherbet. Tasting menu $95
Luce, San Francisco CA
This dessert was REALLY pretty, but I don’t know if everything came together seamlessly. I liked all the individual components but the flavors didn’t really gel for me. But then again I’m not a huge dessert person in the first place.
Mini macarons. Oh, how I love macarons!
Chocolate, coconut, raspberry, citron, caramel, pistachio. 8,70€
Paul, Paris FR
I grabbed these macarons at Gare du Nord. I had bought some fancier ones from Pierre Herme as gifts. I later found that the Pierre Herme macarons didn’t survive the hot weather though, aww. 😦 The Paul macarons did survive. I ate some on the train leaving Paris and they were pretty good. They definitely weren’t as soft and delicate as the ones from Pierre Herme. Those were super fancy and expensive.
Gare du Nord train station. I love the public transportation in Paris, it’s SO much more extensive and efficient than what we have in San Francisco (Muni and Bart both suck!).
Cherry, chicory ice cream. Tasting menu $140
Jardiniere, San Francisco CA
The dense, decadent chocolate cremeux was delicious and paired wonderfully with the cherries. The chicory ice cream had a restrained flavor that wasn’t overly herbal. I thought the dessert was well balanced and had a nice variety of textures.
Mini macarons. Noms!
California manroot fruit (Marah fabaceus, Cucurbitaceae), Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve.

We all know by now that macarons are one of my all-time favorites! I love their texture, their beautiful colors, and scrumptious flavors. Needless to say I enjoyed these immensely!
Seattle Great Wheel, Pier 57. Will have to try this large Ferris wheel one day.
This may have been a little too sweet more me as macarons go, but I wouldn’t kick it out of bed, lol! $1.50
La Boulange de Noe, San Francisco CA
The Women’s Building, 18th Street. I swear this is the last pic of the Women’s Building that I’m gonna post in a long time, lol! There’s just so many cool murals on it. 🙂
Mmm, macarons are one of my favorite sweet treats! I’ve never tried to make them, but perhaps I should finally learn. $1.50
