Bread flour, eggs, buttermilk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, raisins, brown sugar, butter, pecans, yeast, salt. $2.75
Arizmendi Bakery, San Francisco CA
Not too sweet, but utterly delicious. I’m kinda sad that I couldn’t eat it right away cause I’m sure it’s even better warm!

Sock monkey and magic rabbit cakes at Noe Valley Bakery, 24th Street.

Plantain dumplings with powdered sugar. $5
Poquito, San Francisco CA
Perhaps these were a little overcooked?! I loved the dark, rich flavor but it bordered on burnt. I also wished there was more plantain.

Christmas decorated public parklet, 24th Street.

Chorizo, grilled onion, pappardelle noodles, bacon, tomatoes in a Cajun cream sauce. $12.95
Fork Cafe, San Francisco CA
This tasted yummy, probably because it was so rich and bad for you! Pappardelle is one of my favorite pastas, but I wasn’t expecting the chorizo to be in meatball form. They still had a lot of flavor and the texture was good.

Cooked squid in Chinatown.

Fried sticky rice dough on the outside and filled with a minced pork mixture. 3 for $1.60
Good Luck Dim Sum, San Francisco CA

I’d never had this dumpling before and I really like it! If the sticky rice dough was any thicker or less cooked, I’m not sure I would have liked it though.

Barbie car, The Mission. This car was kinda creepy and cool at the same time.

With house-smoked chicken and cajun sausage. $17
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
Mmm, great smokey flavor and lovely ingredients. I really enjoyed this bowl of gumbo!

Bread and butter. Complimentary

Finally saw The Lion King playing at the Orpheum Theatre, Market Street.

This place is now serving full on lunches and dinners and even have a happy hour with discounted beer and wine. I haven’t made it for an entire meal, but I’m glad that this cafe is on my way to Bart so I can always duck in for a yummy snack to go. This mini pear tart was tasty! $3.75
Fiore Caffe, San Francisco CA

Christmas tree in the Castro in front of the Bank of America.

A plain arepa topped with pork fritada, green onions, sweet plantain, cheese, white beans, pickled onions. $9
Poquito, San Francisco CA
This was not what I was expecting when I saw “arepa” on the menu, but this was SO good! It pretty much had everything on it so it was pretty filling. The pork was delicious as was the fried plantain. A heavy dish, but very nommy!

Yellow Bermuda buttercup/African wood sorrel (Oxalis pes-caprae, Oxalidaceae), 17th Street. It’s wintertime in San Francisco so these weedy plants are popping up everywhere! I wouldn’t want these rampants weeds in my own garden, but I will admit that they’re cute.

Chicken, avocado, bacon, blue cheese, tomato, boiled egg, organic mixed greens, grapes. $10.95
Fork Cafe, San Francisco CA
A pretty yummy salad, and the chicken was nice and tender. I love the addition of grapes for extra crunch!

Cute house entrance, Eureka Valley.

Dense and delicious! I doubt that there’s any real shark fin in these. 3 for $1.60
Good Luck Dim Sum, San Francisco CA

White Christmas trees, Collingwood Street.

Eagle Rare 10 year single cask bourbon, Cinzano red vermouth, bitters. $11
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
Nothing beats a neatly made Manhattan! I haven’t always enjoyed bourbon cocktails, but now they’re one of my favorites.

Yellow flowering maple shrub (Abutilon pictum, Malvaceae), 17th Street. I love the green and gold variegated leaves on this plant.

Hmm, these were disappointly on the hard side. Ugh, it’s not right that beignets can be this bad! $4.75
Queen’s Louisiana Po-Boy Cafe, San Francisco CA

Lol, this kid on Bart had such an expressive face! 🙂
