Portland cream - Voodoo Doughnut
This place sucked and so did their donuts! Our service guy was a little bitch and didn’t like getting questions regarding the donuts. That’s your job and I don’t think that 2 questions about what the donuts are called is excessive. I took a couple bites of each donut and threw the rest away. These lame donuts weren’t worth the calories!

Wild Pacific salmon and kale salad – Boudin Bakery and Cafe

Wild Pacific salmon and kale salad - Boudin Bakery and Cafe
Soba noodles, tuscan kale, mixed greens, sliced cucumber, diced red bell pepper, fresh oranges, cilantro, sweet asian chili glaze, sesame seeds, sesame ginger vinaigrette dressing. $10.29
Boudin Bakery and Cafe, San Francisco CA

Ugh, I did NOT like this salad. There was more soba noodles than kale, and the salmon was gross! It was definitely delivered frozen and it had a disgusting squishy texture with a slimy glaze. Yuck!

Scallop – Le Pigeon

Scallop - Le Pigeon
Jackfruit, seaweed, lovage, oyster dressing. $16
Le Pigeon, Portland OR

Omg, this was my favorite meal of my Portland trip! We sat at the counter and were entertained by watching the cooks the entire evening. Every dish was perfect and had a surprising and delicious combination of ingredients, textures, and flavors.

These scallops were delicate and lovely. I loved the random accompaniments that actually worked perfectly to create a perfect bite every time. Noms!

Voodoo doll – Voodoo Doughnut

Raised yeast doughnut filled with raspberry jelly topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake.
Voodoo Doughnut, Portland OR

When your friend and even the hotel bartender tell you that Voodoo is OVERRATED, you should really listen! Unfortunately, I fell for the hype and got deservedly burned.

Voodoo doll - Voodoo Doughnut
The donuts were a huge letdown. The dough was nothing special and actually unevenly cooked, and the frostings were at a sweetness level only fit for little kids. There is absolutely no finesse with these donuts and are definitely not worth the atrocious wait and disinterested service. Fail!

Reggie deluxe – Pine State Biscuits

Reggie deluxe - Pine State Biscuits
Fried chicken, bacon & cheese, egg, topped with gravy. $9
Pine State Biscuits, Portland OR

This is a definite gut buster! It has all the ingredients I love, but it actually didn’t deliver. The gravy was really salty, the biscuit was too dense, and the fried chicken was too greasy. Ugh, what happened? This place was highly recommended, but I think it fell short. Boo…
