This may have been a little too sweet more me as macarons go, but I wouldn’t kick it out of bed, lol! $1.50
La Boulange de Noe, San Francisco CA

The Women’s Building, 18th Street. I swear this is the last pic of the Women’s Building that I’m gonna post in a long time, lol! There’s just so many cool murals on it. π

On hard sourdough, mayo and mustard packets on the side. $5.95
Lucca Ravioli Company, San Francisco CA
This delicious, no frills sandwich is sliced to order and pretty large for six bucks! The meats are yummy and they put a good amount of it in the sammy. Yay! Next time I’ll probably get the soft sourdough bread though. This was a little too hard for me, especially since I didn’t put any condiments on it.

Still wrapped in the butcher paper.

“Poppable pieces of tender chicken breast with the perfect balance of heat and flavor.” 410 calories, 25 g fat. Regular $2.99
McDonald’s, South San Francisco CA
I really need to stop going to fast food joints to try their newest offerings. I’m always disappointed! These McBites were super dry and not very flavorful. Definitely not worth the calories.

With sweet and sour sauce in the sauce bin.

Squash blossoms, zucchini, goat cheese, spring onion, tomato vinaigrette, chicken sausage, mixed greens. $16
Foreign Cinema, San Francisco CA
Another delicious brunch dish! I particularly liked the nice sear on the chicken sausage. Everything was super flavorful and tasted fresh and spring-y.

Water service.

Castro Castle Guest House, 17th Street. I’ve always thought that this building was super cheesy looking and out of place. But I appreciate that it has SO much character. I don’t think I’d ever want to stay here though.

These bad boys are perfect as a quick convenient snack on my way home from the gym. Mmm! $3.50
La Boulange de Noe, San Francisco CA

Random relief sculpture house decoration, States Street. This white house struck me as odd compared to the more traditional Victorian houses on the street.

Vodka with soda and a splash of cranberry juice.
Lone Palm, San Francisco CA
This place has got to be one of the most random neighborhood bars I’ve ever been to, and that’s a good thing! There’s a single palm tree in front of it, and the interior is decorated in a cheesy (awesome) art deco style. Seems like a perfect bar to me!

Vacant Market liquor store, 17th Street. I was walking down to the Castro Muni Station one morning and thought the lighting with the fog looked cool.

With chorizo and citrus relish. $17
Beast and the Hare, San Francisco CA
I was confused with the plateware. Omg, my entree bowl looked like it was appetizer sized! I noticed at other tables the the pasta was also served in these tiny bowls. They definitely looked inappropriately small. Besides that, I did enjoy this dish. It was nice and citrus-y, but I did think that the blue crab got lost among everything else. And the price seemed a bit steep for the four pieces of mussels and flaked crab. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience but a few things, primarily that unacceptable wait between courses, just needed to be tweaked.

Wind sculpture at the Helen Diller Playground, Mission Dolores Park.

Poached eggs, frisee, endive, five spice cracklings, croutons, sherry vinaigrette. $17
Foreign Cinema, San Francisco CA

Omg, this was SO good and everything wasΒ cooked beautifully! The duck was delicious as were the poached eggs. The five spice cracklings were a fun and yummy addition.

I thought it was cool that Foreign Cinema had branded paper towels in their bathroom. So classy, lol!

I had to look this up, but a bellini is traditionally made with white peaches (pureed and strained) and sparkling wine (prosecco because of its Italian origin). This is different from mimosas that use citrus (usually orange juice) and champagne (because of its French origin) with or without Grand Marnier to accentuate the citrus flavors. Geez, I love the internet! π $9
Universal Cafe, San Francisco CA

Pink bougainvillea flowers (Nyctaginaceae) and lion statue, Church Street.

Mmm, macarons are one of my favorite sweet treats! I’ve never tried to make them, but perhaps I should finally learn. $1.50
La Boulange de Noe, San Francisco CA

I Voted! sticker, Election 2012. Keeping my fingers crossed…

With shiitake/parmesan bread pudding, dandelion greens and leeks. $17
Beast and the Hare, San Francisco CA
Wow, the time between charcuterie and entree was super long. I mean SUPER long! We had time to order another glass of wine and pretty much drink it all between courses. Kinda weird. I enjoyed the space and service otherwise.

This chicken tasted like Thanksgiving, and the bread pudding was AMAZING!
