Sweet cream coffee caramel ice cream – Haagen Dazs

Sweet cream coffee caramel ice cream - Haagen Dazs
Kiddie cup $4.99
Haagen Dazs, San Francisco CA

I still think the ice cream here is overpriced especially when I can go to the grocery store and buy more for cheaper. I had never seen this flavor before so I had to try it. It was actually really good! I guess part of the cost is getting unique flavors that you can’t buy at the store.

Buttermilk fried chicken and pancakes – Mulebone

Buttermilk fried chicken and pancakes - Mulebone
Candied house-cured bacon, bourbon pecan caramel. $14
Mulebone, Washington DC

Mmm, this was really good! The fried chicken was nice and juicy and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. This was definitely on the sweet side, but the flavors were great.

Lemon and cream dessert – Tordomatto

Lemon and cream dessert - Tordomatto
Pine nuts, limoncello. “Tradition” tasting menu €65
Tordomatto, Rome ITALY

This was a super creative dessert, but I’m not sure that it was successful overall. I loved that it mimicked the look of an egg, but it didn’t feel satisfying on the mouth. The gelatin cellophane was odd and didn’t allow the other ingredients to blend. I liked the flavor of the dessert though.

Additional dessert - Tordomatto
Extra lil’ palette cleanser.

Spicy hot jumbo wings – Red Hot & Blue

Spicy hot jumbo wings - Red Hot & Blue
Served with ranch dressing, celery, carrots. 10 wings $9.50
Red Hot & Blue, Herndon VA

Apparently this place has closed since my visit. I’m not surprised. The food was marginal. I’m not even sure why they called these chicken wings “jumbo” since they were fairly small. They were also over-cooked and dry. The bartender was friendly though.

Spicy bbq chicken & crispy chicken – Sorabol

Spicy bbq chicken & crispy chicken - Sorabol
With steamed broccoli and brown rice. $10.95
Sorabol, San Francisco CA

I will say that even though the Korean food at Sorabol is no where near the best, they are definitely consistent which is a huge plus in my book. You’re always certain what you’re gonna get and there aren’t any surprises. And you get a lot of food for a decent price – a rarity when it comes to downtown lunches in San Francisco.
