I gave into my greasy food cravings again and had to have a chicken sandwich from The Bird again! It’s still as delicious as last time. Noms!

Black skillet fried chicken sandwich – 1300 on Fillmore

Black skillet fried chicken sandwich - 1300 on Fillmore
Jalapeno slaw, honey mustard dressing, brioche bun. Served with house-made potato chips. $16.50
1300 on Fillmore, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

This sandwich was large and pretty tasty. I liked the slaw, but the potato chips were greasy. The service here was super slow though. I wouldn’t recommend eating here if you don’t have the time – you’ll prolly miss your flight.

2 piece fried chicken dinner – Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits

2 piece fried chicken dinner - Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits
Breast and wing, mashed potatoes and gravy, biscuit. $8.49
Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)

Finally tried Bojangles’ and it was really tasty! I loved the crispy exterior and it wasn’t greasy at all! The biscuit was also nice and buttery. Yum!

Hot chicken and waffles – Hattie B’s Hot Chicken

Hot chicken and waffles - Hattie B's Hot Chicken
Small white with breast and wing, syrup, fruit cup, side of macaroni and cheese. $11.50
Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, Nashville TN

This hot chicken was really great, and you could actually really taste and feel the heat! I didn’t mind the wait since it was actually kinda fun. The mac and cheese was also really gooey and awesome, NOMS!

Pale ale beer - Hattie B's Hot Chicken
Pale ale. I waited in line forever, but it was nice that you could go inside and get a beer to ease the wait, hehe! I actually met a great group of people in line and we just chatted the entire time. 🙂

3 piece dark – Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken

3 piece dark - Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken
2 thighs and leg, baked beans, slaw, and white bread. $8.25
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, Memphis TN

I kept hearing that the chicken here was really good, and I’ll have to agree. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and very flavorful. With a little bit of hot sauce splashed on, I couldn’t eaten a few additional pieces, hehe!

Ol’ Dirty Biscuit – Ace Biscuit & Barbecue

Ol' Dirty Biscuit - Ace Biscuit & Barbecue
Fried chicken, sausage gravy, dill pickles, smoked pimiento cheese. $9 – Side of waffles. $5.50
Ace Biscuit & Barbecue, Charlottesville VA

I didn’t think this was very good. I think the biscuit would have been fine without the pimento cheese since there was already gravy. Also, the waffles were really limp and bland. Not my favorite breakfast.

Fried chicken and carnitas taco – Farmers Fishers Bakers

Fried chicken and carnitas taco - Farmers Fishers Bakers
Baked ham (ends), artichoke dip, tortilla chips. Brunch buffet $29.99
Farmers Fishers Bakers, Washington DC

I admit this is a random plate, but everything looked so good! This is why I’m dangerous at buffets, I just grab everything a once. Lol! I pretty much liked everything on the plate and quickly devoured it.

Chicken fried soul sandwich – Soul Groove

Chicken fried soul sandwich - Soul Groove
Bacon-wrapped and buttermilk battered chicken breast, fried and served between maple infused waffles with jalapeño cole slaw and Jay’s spicy maple barbecue sauce. $8
Soul Groove, San Francisco CA

The chicken was really flavorful and juicy. So juicy that it was pretty drippy, but I liked it! The description is very misleading though since there are no waffles to be seen, just a regular bun. Very odd! Or maybe they gave me the wrong sandwich, but all of their sandwiches indicate waffles(!).

Chicken and waffles sandwich – The Wine Kitchen

Chicken and waffles sandwich - The Wine Kitchen
Boneless leg and thigh, wilted kale, buttermilk waffle, bacon jam. $14
The Wine Kitchen, Leesburg VA

This dish was a major fail! The waffles were so crumbly that they had no chance to stay intact with the fried chicken and the wilted kale. The kale was actually pretty tough so it wasn’t an easy green to put in a “sandwich” in the first place. The chicken was also pretty greasy. I definitely had diner’s remorse.

Nashville chicken and waffles – The Fremont Diner

Nashville chicken and waffles - The Fremont Diner
Spicy fried chicken served with corn sorghum waffle, butter, and vanilla cinnamon syrup. $15.99
The Fremont Diner, Sonoma CA

This was delicious! The chicken was a little greasy, but I loved the seasoning and the heat. I didn’t think it was very spicy, but I do love me some Nashville hot chicken! The waffle was also really tasty especially with some of the syrup on top.
