With grapefruit juice. $8.50
With orange juice. $8
Plow, San Francisco CA
Yummy mimosas lead to a happy me! I’m kinda annoyed that they charge fifty cents extra for the grapefuit juice though especially since it isn’t listed on their menu.

No Cell Phone sign at the Plow counter. Oops, I still used my to snap food pics! 😉

With spicy slaw, bbq sauce, cilantro, pickled onions and ricotta salata. $7
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
Wow, I was a bit shocked when this arrived to the table and there were only 4 tortilla chips on the plate, lol! But I have to say that they were really filling, and pretty tasty! I tend to overeat so I was secretly relieved that there was just enough to taste and enjoy. 🙂

Columbus Tower (Sentinel Building), North Beach/Financial District.

Grilled beef, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, mayonnaise. $4.50
Little Saigon, South San Francisco CA
Ok, I’m offically banh mi’d out right now, lol! This is probably not true but I have been eating a lot of banh mi’s lately. I can’t help myself!

Aleutian maidenhair ferns (Adiantum aleuticum, Pteridaceae), Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve.

Blanco tequila, mezcal, lime, agave. $9
Padrecito, San Francisco CA
It’s unfortunate that this cocktail bears the name of the restaurant because it wasn’t very good. The cocktail was overly sour and had muddled flavors – not a fan…

Washington Square Park Firefighters Memorial, North Beach.

Huh, I wasn’t a fan of this cookie. It was too dry and crumbly. You’d expected that with something called a “fudgie” it would not only have a rich chocolate flavor, but also a dense chewy texture. This cookie had neither. I’ll stick with their regular cookies next time. Each $2.25
Flour Craft Bakery, San Anselmo CA

Orange flame poker plant (Kniphofia galpinii, Xanthorrhoeaceae), Kentfield.

Cake donut with sprinkles.
Donut King, San Pablo CA
My co-worker sometimes brings these donuts to work. I always try to control myself, but I eventually eat more than I need to. I guess I can’t be trusted around donuts! 🙂

Coconut donut.

Strawberry glazed donut.

Apple cinnamon donut.

Free-range, wheat-free boneless, skinless chicken thighs marinated with oregano and garlic then baked. Served with rice, black beans, fried green plantain (tostones con mojo), sweet fried yellow plantain (maduros), organic salad. Two pieces $12.25
Sol Food, San Rafael CA
Wow, this chicken was REALLY flavorful especially when drowned in their addictive hot sauce! The rice, beans and salad were fine but nothing special. I definitely liked the sweet plantain better than the fried green plaintain. The green plantain was too dry and hard for my liking. You also get a lot of food for your money!

Delicious vinegary hot sauce.

Ballerina red thrift flowers (Armeria pseudarmeria, Plumbaginaceae), Kentfield.

Grilled chicken, pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, mayonnaise. $4.50
Little Saigon, South San Francisco CA
Mmm, I’ve been on a banh mi kick lately. I really can’t get enough of these delicious Vietnamese sammies!

Mango, avocado, chipotle-agave salsita and blue corn chips. $15
Padrecito, San Francisco CA
Hmm, this isn’t what I expected when I saw “yellowtail crudo” on the menu. It’s ok becuase this actually tasted pretty good. I would have preferred if there was less mango so that you could properly taste the yellowtail though.

Dolores Park during SF Pride 2013.

I haven’t had a lot of gluten free cookies yet, but I enjoyed this one. My constant fear for gluten free cookies is that’ll be too dry or have a weird aftertaste. This cookies was still very moist and tasted great! $1.75
Flour Craft Bakery, San Anselmo CA

Shortbread cookie. Complimentary
Pretty tasty and free with purchase!

Powder-puff pincushion cactus (Mammillaria bocasana var. multilanata, Cactaceae), Kentfield.
