Fresh local dungeness crab sandwich - Farley Bar
This sandwich was SO good! The crab was delicious and they weren’t skimpy with it either. And do I even have to say anything about the bacon – omg, loved it! This sandwich was also quite large so David and I had a hard time finishing it, but there was no way we were going to let it go to waste!

Don’t think that the waffle fries were a throw away either. They were absolutely delicious and perfectly fried. And that roasted onion dip – amazing! We were SO full that we unfortunately had to leave some of this on the plate, hehe.

Big King meal deal – Burger King

Big King meal deal - Burger King
Big King hamburger with 2 flame grilled beef patties, crispy lettuce, sliced onions, pickles, American cheese and Big King sauce. Meal with small fries and small Diet Coke. £3.99
Burger King, London ENGLAND

I guess BK in London has a different “King of the Day” sandwich for each day of the week. Mondays are Big King cheeseburger days! The burger seems much smaller than how the product description on their website reads. Hmm… It tasted like Burger King though! Sometimes fast food chains taste differently in other countries, but even the ketchup tasted the same here.

Video and neon displays of Picadilly Circus. Not quite Times Square but it’s still cute. Love the red double decker bus in the pic.

Fish and chips – The Lord Moon of the Mall

Fish and chips - The Lord Moon of the Mall
Battered fillet of sustainable cod, chips, tartare sauce and garden peas. £5.99
The Lord Moon of the Mall, London ENGLAND

Who says British food is gross and flavorless?! I HAD to try their fish and chips and it tasted great! The fish was nicely fried and the batter had a good flavour (hehe). The fries were crisp on the outside and pillowy on the insde and I definitely prefer garden peas to mushy peas.

The Lord Moon of the Mall dining room
Perhaps this painting is of the Lord Moon of the Mall? Lol, prolly not but the dining area is quite cozy and busy! So there aren’t any servers that come to your table to take your food order. You have to go to the bar to order and then expeditors bring out your food when it’s ready.

The Lord Moon of the Mall interior
I love the high ceiling and large windows in the dining room. This was our first full day in London and the weather was horrible – it was cold and rainy!

Big Ben, Elizabeth Tower, Palace of Westminster

Big Ben, Elizabeth Tower, Palace of Westminster. It was a gloomy day but that didn’t prevent us from walking around London like crazy people trying to fit everything in. It’s pretty amazing how ornately decorated this Clock Tower is.

Fresh cod fillet & chips – Fusciardi’s Cafe

Fresh cod fillet & chips - Fusciardi's Cafe
“Fusciardi’s have been cooking fish and chips for over 70 years in our homemade batter. And freshly cut chips!” Medium €6.50
Fusciardi’s Cafe, Dublin IRELAND

I feel bad for saying this because the worker (owner?) was SUPER nice, but this was horrible! The fish was limp and super oily and so were the French fries. And oddly enough, they both lacked flavor. I’m sorry nice worker, forgive me!

Olives burger – Todd English’s Olives

Olives burger - Todd English's Olives
Cheddar cheese, warm skordalia onion marmalade, lettuce, tomato, pickle, toasted bun, parmesan fries. $16
Todd English’s Olives, Las Vegas NV

Mmm, SO good! The beef patty was super flavorful and juicy, and I loved the onion marmalade. Those thick potato wedges with parmesan cheese were definitely addicting.

Angus beef burger – Cat Cora Kitchen

Angus beef burger - Cat Cora Kitchen
Served with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles on a fresh baked bun, with sweet potato fries. $14
Cat Cora Kitchen, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Angus beef burger - Cat Cora Kitchen
I ordered with burger cooked medium/medium-rare and you can see that it’s still a little pink in the middle and super juicy, noms! I will say that the patty could have used a little more seasoning, but it was very good. The sweet potato fries were nicely fried and delicious!

Iced tea - Cat Cora Kitchen

The 3 Finger Combo – Raising Cane’s

The 3 Finger Combo - Raising Cane's
3 chicken fingers, fries, 1 Cane’s sauce, Texas toast, regular drink (Diet Coke).
Raising Cane’s, North Charleston SC

The 3 Finger Combo - Raising Cane's
We don’t have this fast food chain on the West Coast so I had to try it while I was in the Charleston area. It was pretty good as deep fried chicken strips go, and I really liked the Cane’s sauce. I’m still a little baffled by the Texas toast. It’s just so thick and buttery that I don’t know how it really fits into an already artery-clogging meal.

Lamb burger – Cafe Mystique

Lamb burger - Cafe Mystique
Burger ordered medium, with lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onions, and mozzarella cheese. Served with garlic French fries. $12.95
Cafe Mystique, San Francisco CA

Lamb burger - Cafe Mystique
Mmm, this burger was very juicy and flavorful. It had a mild lamb taste that was not overpowering. And the garlic fries were SO delicious! This was their burger special that night so I’m glad I ordered it – a great value!

The Sleeper burger – Poe’s Tavern

The Sleeper burger - Poe's Tavern
Half-pound burger ground in-house and cooked to order. Served on a freshly baked bun, with lettuce, tomato, pickles, fried onions, and a side of hand-cut French fries. Topped with roasted garlic blue cheese and Buffalo shrimp. $11
Poe’s Tavern, Sullivan’s Island SC

The Sleeper burger - Poe's Tavern
What was I thinking ordering this super heavy burger? It was delicious, but super rich and large! I wasn’t very hungry at the time so perhaps this wasn’t the best choice. I will say that the patty had a weird texture. It was very crumbly underneath the sear and fell apart quite easily. The Buffalo shrimp was great though!

The Sleeper burger - Poe's Tavern
These fries were delicious, but they got soggy as they cooled down.

Gun powder room at Fort Moultrie
Gun powder room at Fort Moultrie. In the middle of the Fort, they had a reconstructed powder house containing barrels of gun powder. You can’t go inside, but I snapped this pic through the bars of the door window.

Grilled ham and cheese sandwich – Lori’s Diner

Grilled ham and cheese sandwich Lori's Diner
Served with French fries and a pickle. $8.95
Lori’s Diner, San Francisco (SFO)

Ew, this was so gross and greasy! They even grill the ham before sticking it into the sandwich so it stains the cheese with a dark layer of grease. The French fries were ok, but you really didn’t want to eat to many of them since the grilled cheese sandwich as SO heavy and salty.

Do Brazil chicken burger – Do Brazil

Do Brazil chicken burger
For spice lovers! Large strips of fried chicken on a sesame bun with lettuce and tomato, served with French fries. €22
Do Brazil, Gustavia, SAINT BARTHELEMY

Geez, this was large! I don’t think anybody at the table expected a burger this size, and a few people had ordered it. It’s advertised “for spice lovers”, but it actually wasn’t that spicey. It was definitely more flavorful than the mahi mahi burger though. Again, the fries were delicious.

Gustavia
Gustavia. The red-roofed homes in Gustavia immediately reminded me of Australia. I think the consistency is very cute and the color pops against the island landscape. Oh, to own one of those yachts in the harbor. 🙂

Mahi-mahi burger – Do Brazil

Mahi-mahi burger Do Brazil
Grilled mahi mahi steak on a sesame bun with lettuce and tomato, served with French fries. €25
Do Brazil, Gustavia, SAINT BARTHELEMY

If I remember correctly, this burger was a little dry and bland. The fries were pretty tasty though. Even with a mediocre dish like this, we couldn’t help but be merry since we were all having a great time on the island.

Shell Beach Gustavia
Shell Beach. You can see why this beach gets its name – there are shells all the way up to the restaurant. It was sporadically raining all day and people would have to run for cover. Fortunately, we had purchased the use of lounge chairs with umbrellas so we just laid there and drank cocktails. Hehe. By far, the most relaxing day of the trip.
