This pilsner was clean and bright, and was a great drink to relax with on a sunny farmers market weekend in Portland.

Hmm, these were ok. The cookies was on the sweet side and it could have been more chewy. The brownie bites were mediocre.

Corn tortillas, napa cabbage, pico de gallo, cilantro cream. $8.95
Tortilla Kitchen, San Francisco CA
I loved the flavors of these tacos especially the cilantro cream. The beef brisket was a bit dry though and I wished the tortillas were warmed up.

Bar seating $180
Pineapple & Pearls, Washington DC
Sadly, I don’t really remember much about this lamb except that they explained ad nauseam. I appreciated the description, but quickly forgot everything once I began eating. I do remember that the lamb was really tender and very flavorful.

$3.50
Dim Sum King Seafood Restaurant, Toronto CANADA
I hated this place, and I will never return.

Tofu, egg, bamboo shoots, black fungus, scallions. Small $6.99
Spices, San Francisco CA
I love hot and sour soup and this was good. It could have been a bit more spicy, but it was tasty enough.

Two eggs over medium, hashbrowns, wheat toast. $11.59
Island Cafe, Oak Harbor WA
Hmm, this corned beef hash tasted weird. Perhaps there was too much vinegar or something, but it also had a weird reddish purple color. Not my favorite. At least the wheat toast was decent.

Fresh lump crab croquettes, romesco and lemon aioli. $14
Amsterdam BrewHouse, Toronto CANADA
Ugh, another super cold dish! I’m so tired of eating cold food here – I could have just gone out for ice cream. And the service was bad, so there really wasn’t much going for this place beyond the beer.

Kizami nori, scallion, bamboo, fried noodles. $4
The Ramen Bar, San Francisco CA
These deviled eggs were a special for the day, so I had to get them. They were actually pretty tasty, and I loved the seaweed and Japanese flavors. Yum!

Poached, organic kosher raises Mary’s chicken with jasmine rice simmered in chicken stock and Thai herbs, served with sauce of fermented soybeans, ginger, garlic, thai chilies, vinegar, house made syrup and soy sauce. Garnished with cucumbers and cilantro, and accompanied by a light soup. Mixed meat $9.75, with fried chicken skins $2
Nong’s Khao Man Gai, Portland OR
Wow, I heard good things about this place and I was glad to find out that it lived up to the hype! This chicken and rice was delicious. The chicken was so tender and juicy and the rice was great on its own. I loved the salted sauce and the chicken broth too. NOMS!

Meatballs in chicken broth, pepe pasta, spinach, onions, carrot. Glass of red wine. Complimentary
American Airlines Admirals Club, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
This soup was ok. It was pretty much standard airline lounge fare so the bar isn’t set very high. It’s definitely better with a glass of wine. ๐

Spit-roasted pulled chicken, avocado, black bean puree, jalapeno slaw, bourbon bbq sauce, on toasted ciabatta. $10.95
Split Bread, San Francisco CA
I liked the flavors of this sandwich, but the chicken was on the dry side. I think that’s been a theme every time I’ve been to Split Bread. The proteins have always been dry. Not good…
