“A chocolate-cherry delight made from our delicious coffee extract blended with Special Dutch chocolate powder milk, chocolate covered espresso beans, maraschino cherries and ice then topped with whipped cream.” 16 ounce $5.29
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, McCarran International Airport (LAS)
Hadn’t tried this flavor of their ice blended drinks before, and I think it is my favorite so far! I love the combination of cherry and chocolate, and the bits of chocolate covered espresso beans are fun to eat.

McCarran Internationl Airport terminal welcome sign.

Small iced coffee.
Philz Coffee, San Francisco CA
There are many coffee companies in San Francisco, but Philz is STILL my favorite! Their coffee is delicious, they are the most consistent, and the their many flavors are very distinct. Mmm, makes we want to take another coffee break!

Philz handmade espresso. Small $2.75

Pair of fresh drip coffees.

$3.49
Java Detour, Las Vegas NV
I attended another conference in Vegas and always had to run to the coffee shop downstairs to grab food beforehand. None of it was really that good but it kept my stomach at bay during sessions. 🙂

16 ounce coffee. $3.49
Banana. $1.50

Statues facing the Flamingo.

This breakfast sandwich was barely edible, but it was served warm and I was starving. SEA definitely needs better eateries throughout the airport. $4.49

Their food warmer was down, so I had to eat this cold. Definitely not as good. $4.25
La Boulange de Noe, San Francisco CA

Small coffee. $1.75

Yellow-orange African daisy flowers (Gazania sp., Asteraceae), Point Lobos Avenue.

Served with 2 eggs scrambled, homefries, country bacon gravy and a biscuit. $11.95
Gussie’s Chicken and Waffles, San Francisco CA
This was disgusting! We sat there for a while wondering what it was. There was very little gravy because most of it had soaked into the soft doughy breading to create an odd mealy surface. So gross! I’m surprised that a quintessentially Southern place like Gussie’s can make such a horrible chicken fried steak. The biscuit was also super dry and puck-like.

Coffee. $2.59

Imitation crab and sushi rice wrapped in nori. $2.50
KOA Newsstand, Kona International Airport (KOA)
I liked how the rice and fillings were packaged seaprately from the nori so it wouldn’t get wet. For newsstand sushi, this was pretty good. I also grabbed a Royal Mills iced cappuccino for a yummy snack before my flight.

The Lei Makers, bronze statue, Lark Grey Dimond-Cates, 1997, KOA Airport.

Eggs, potato, onion, cheese. Served with wheat toast. $7.85
Rebel Kitchen, Kealakekua HI
This was a random restaurant that we stopped at on our way to kayak in Kealakekua Bay. I’m glad we did because the service was fabulous and the food was simple and delicous. My scramble had SO much flavor! And paired with Kona coffee, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the morning.

100% Kona coffee. $2.50

Captain Cook Monument, Kealakekua Bay. We had a great time kayaking to this thing and the snorkeling in front was amazing!

A generous whole-egg omelette filled with roasted veggies, Big Island goat cheese, macadamia nut pesto, avocado and parmesan cheese. Served with fresh fruit. $13.25
Island Lava Java, Kailua-Kona HI
Mmm, this omeltte was great and the ingredients were very tasty. I loved the macadamia nut pesto and the large portion. And orchid blossoms in your fruit are always a nice touch! 🙂

100% extra fancy Kona coffee, full city roast, over ice. $3.25

We sat outside where they had a local musician serenading us with some Hawaiian flare. He was actually really good and we tipped him accordingly.
