With oyster crackers. $6.49
The Lockspot Cafe, Seattle WA
I liked this chowder. It was thick and yummy and there was a decent amount of clams in there. The Lockspot’s location right next to the Ballard Locks is also really nice!

Bordelaise, onions, potatoes, swiss cheese, fruit, wheat toast. $16
Escena Lounge & Grill, Palm Springs CA
This was decent. There was a lot of food, but everything seemed a bit dry and bland. Even my eggs ordered medium was just plain fried.

Mini blueberry muffins.

House smoked marcona almonds. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
These almonds were SO good! They were nice and smoky and so addictive. I could have eaten the entire bowl but had to save room for the rest of the tastings.

Stir-fried with roasted peanuts, sweet bell peppers, white onions, dried chilies and caramelized soy sauce. $17
Wang’s in the Desert, Palm Springs CA
This was pretty tasty. I liked that the bell peppers were cut quite large and the sauce wasn’t too salty.

Fennel, escarole, carrot, citrus vinaigrette. $16
Caskhouse, San Francisco CA
This was different and pretty tasty. I wasn’t expecting such a yummy salad like this at a beer place. It was fresh and bright. I loved the citrus vinaigrette and the prawns were nice and tender.

Fresh Ecuadorian tilapia, Negra Modelo battered, fried with salsa verde, sour cream, house slaw. $4.75
Sauteed shrimp, salsa verde, sour cream, house slaw. $4.75
Tropisueno, San Francisco CA
Mmm, seafood tacos are the best. These were on the small side for the price, but they tasted great. The salsa bar at Tropisueno is still one of my favorite things for lunch.

Thai chicken, peanut sauce, bean sprouts, scallions, carrots, cilantro and mozzarella. Baja chicken, monterey jack and cheddar, corn, black beans, poblanos, red onions and cilantro, guacamole.
California Pizza Kitchen, San Francisco CA
These were gross. They were dry, small and definitely not worth the calories. The flavors were muddled and the peanut sauce tasted weird.

Tomato sauce, parmesan. $12
Caskhouse, San Francisco CA
I loved the tomato sauce in this! It was rich and had a really deep yummy flavor. The meatballs were moist and not dense and hard.

Blond Ale, Saint Archer, San Diego. $6
7 Wonders Pale, Cellarmaker, San Francisco. $7

Fried soft shell crab topped with red curry paste sauce. $15.95
Thai Chef, San Francisco CA
This tasted great. I wish there was more crab, but the red curry paste sauce tasted great as did the fried basil leaves. Mmm…

Served with marinated bok choy, steamed rice. $8.95
Fang Restaurant, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was SO good! I loved the flavor of the large steak cubes. The exterior was packed with flavor and the beef was very soft and tender. And the price was eprfect for lunch. Noms!

Classic mac ‘n’ cheese lightly fried with panko, served on creamy cheese sauce. $4.59
California Pizza Kitchen, San Francisco CA
These were small, but packed with flavor. I liked the panko crust, but the mac ‘n’ cheese center was a bit dry. I wish it could have been oozy and cheesy.

Bucatini, tomato, onions, pancetta, pecorino. $18
54 Mint, San Francisco CA
Simple and delicious! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was rich and tasty. The portions was small, but it filled me up just fine.
