Mandarin chicken breast salad – Working Girls’ Cafe

Mandarin chicken breast salad - Working Girls' Cafe
Mixed greens, chicken breast, red onion, red bell pepper, snow peas, mushrooms, mandarin oranges, peanuts, crispy noodles topped with sesame seeds and tossed in homemade oriental dressing. $9.75
Working Girls’ Cafe, San Francisco CA

I liked all the ingredients in this salad, but it was surprisingly unfulfilling flavor-wise and volume-wise. Perhaps, I’ll just never get into eating salads as entrees, even for lunch. I did ask for the dressing on the side and I also picked out the crispy noodles. Perhaps if I had it with the full fat content, I would have been more content.

Bacon havarti breakfast sandwich – Boudin Bakery and Cafe

Bacon havarti breakfast sandwich - Boudin Bakery and Cafe
With egg and served on parmesan crusted sourdough bread. $5.25
Boudin Bakery and Cafe, San Francisco CA

Mmm, I’m always pleasantly surprised with the breakfast sandwiches from Boudin. The egg has a great consistency and doesn’t taste microwave-y like those from other places. And the sourdough bread is delicious!

Fire cracker prawns - Salty's on Alki Beach
Ugh, this place is frickin’ ridiculous! Salty’s is one of those annoying restaurants that, besides their waterfront location, everyone wonders why it remains open. And now I can add my two cents. I had an absolutely terrible experience at Salty’s and the food is definitely overpriced for what it is.

First off, the hostess was a mess and SO unprofessional! She was an older woman, and perhaps she needs to get another job because she definitely can’t perform this one very well. The younger male host/seater was a little more professional but I couldn’t get the sour taste of my first impression out of my mouth.

The service was nice, but definitely off on timing. I sat outside, but there really isn’t a view of anything on that lame deck. This place is gross and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. What a waste of my time…

Wow, this cheese was very different and unexpected, and very yummy! The thin slices of potatoes were perfect with the creamy fonduta and I love the wonderful crust. Noms!

French toast donut – Analog Coffee

French toast donut - Analog Coffee
Provided by Mighty-O donuts. $2
Analog Coffee, Seattle WA

Ugh, this donut was dry and gross and off-tasting. I later found out that it was vegan – no wonder. That just goes to show that some vegan food doesn’t come anywhere close to tasting as good as the original. The latte was ok, and the guys working the store were friendly enough. I hated that their wifi wasn’t working, lame…
