Moto pizza – Ragazza

Moto pizza - Ragazza
With organic egg. $22
April 24, 2015.

I ordered this for delivery and by the time it arrived, it wasn’t very good. All the textures were off and definitely didn’t taste as good as if it was served fresh at the restaurant. Note to self: never order Ragazza pizza for delivery.

Moto pizza - Ragazza
Tomato, Calabrian chilies, mushrooms, red onion, sausage and mozzarella. Banquet-style dinner
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

Mmm, the pizzas at Ragazza are amazing! I love their thin, chewy crusts and they use the best quality toppings. They also have a pick-up option, but that’s difficult when you don’t have a car, lol!

Bianca pizza – Ragazza

Bianca pizza - Ragazza
Onion crema, shaved garlic, preserved lemon, aged provolone, wild arugula. Banquet-style dinner
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

Sorry for the dirty plate, but I had a lot of food before grabbing a piece of this pizza, hehe. And it was a delicious piece of pizza at that! I think it was the combination of the onion crema, garlic and preserved lemon that really made this pizza sing. The wild arugula was a great peppery topping. Noms!

Lacinato kale and little gem lettuces – Ragazza

Lacinato kale and little gem lettuces - Ragazza
Salad with avocado, radish, farro and green goddess dressing. Banquet-style dinner
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

I haven’t really gotten into the whole kale salad revolution, but this was delicious! I guess almost anything can taste amazing when tossed in green goddess dressing though, hehe. The addition of farro and avocado was a smart moved!

Warm hand pulled mozzarella – Ragazza

Warm hand pulled mozzarella - Ragazza
With heirloom tomatoes, brown butter and sage. Banquet-style dinner
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

Simple dishes with quality products are the absolute best! This was SO yummy! I love mozzarella and heirloom tomtatoes so it’s not a surprise that I would like this dish, but they added even more flavor with the brown butter and fried sage so I was a total fan.

Fried arancini – Ragazza

Fried arancini - Ragazza
With smoked mozzarella and sun-dried tomato pesto. Banquet-style dinner
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

We came here for a friend’s birthday celebration and sat in the cool white tent located in the back patio. We had a great time with amazing friends and, of course, the food was fabulous. These arancini were delicious and perfectly cooked (not greasy at all!). The smoked mozzarella inside the fried risotto ball was gooey and flavorful, and the accompanying meat sauce was wonderful too.

Cowboy statue
I really liked this (tacky) cowboy statue at the de Young Museum, hehe! Hey, it has lots of movement! 🙂

Amatriciana pizza – Ragazza

Amatriciana pizza - Ragazza
With tomato, Boccalone pancetta, chilies, pecorino, oregano, and a farm egg. $16
Ragazza, San Francisco CA

Omg, delicious! The buttery thin crust is SO flavorful and the thicker edges are airy and have a wonderful elasticity. The toppings are stellar – a perfect combination of salty, crunchy, smooth and rich. Definitely break the egg and spread the runny yolk on every slice. The sauce is spectacular and the thin strips of pancetta are SO frickin’ good! It’s no wonder this pizza is on the 7×7 list. Although the hostess had a bit of an attitude, I didn’t let it affect my food experience. Noms!
