Chicken and shrimp. $12
Tao Yin Restaurant, San Francisco CA
I liked the flavors of this dish and the I always love large cuts of tender eggplant, but the oil content was just too much to handle! Ugh, stop using SO much oil!

Radish, meyer lemon confit. $17
Hamlet, San Francisco CA
I didn’t like this very much. The “risotto” was more like a hard and dry paella and there were few shrimp and mussels. The mussels were also shriveled and dry and the shrimp weren’t any more tender. Hmm…

Sticky rice, avocado, pickled chili, tamari soy. $18
Barndiva, Healdsburg CA
Wow, this plate was beautiful and delicious! The scallops were SO tender and cooked perfectly and all the Asian flavors were refreshing and wonderful. Noms!

Hibiscus pomegranate soda, garden lavender lemonade.

Bun thit nuong. Lettuce, carrot, mint, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. $13
Green Papaya, San Francisco CA
This was fine, but I thought that it was slightly overpriced for SF lunch pricing. The quality wasn’t above and beyond anything that you could get cheaper elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be returning to Green Papaya for lunch.

Bone in New York strip steak, whipped potatoes, baked tomato, and house steak sauce. $38
Spencer’s Restaurant, Palm Springs CA
Mmm, this steak was great! I liked the bit of char on the outside, and the center was wonderfully medium-rare the way I like it. The house steak sauce was also delicious.

Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayo. Served with fries. $5.99
Floyd’s Frosty, McCloud CA
This burger was pretty good! It was cooked perfectly and it tasted great. The fries were also hot and crispy, and not greasy at all. Yay!

With onions and cilantro. $2.95
Tropisueno, San Francisco CA
Tropisueno doesn’t make the best tacos, but I certainly appreciate their simplicity. Add a dollop of salsa and you have a wonderfully fulfilling bite!

Roast beef, cheddar cheese sauce, red ranch on onion roll. $5.49
Arby’s, Redding CA
This was my favorite Arby’s sandwich growing up and it still is. We went for late night fast food run, and I came back happy. Next time I’m going to ask for extra red ranch sauce though, hehe!

Scrambled eggs, sausage patty, breakfast potatoes, and wheat toast. Complimentary
Hampton Inn & Suites, Redding CA
Their offerings at this Hampton Inn were pretty basic. They even had the gross scrambled eggs that feel and taste like they’ve been boiled or something. I didn’t expect much more for Redding though, lol!

Bbq and horseradish sauce, chipotle garlic sauce, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, jalapeno, and pepperoncini on Dutch crunch. $9
Mayo & Mustard, San Francisco CA
Omg, this sandwich was amazing! I wasn’t expecting such a delicious sandwich to come out of a food truck for some reason, but this one blew me away! It was jam packed with flavor and the meats were super tender and flavorful. I’ll have to look out for this truck the next time it’s in the neighborhood! 🙂
