Duck and pea shoot salad - Hearth Coffee Roasters
Mixed greens, avocado. Prix fixe dinner $29.50

This salad was lovely! The duck was beautifully prepared and the greens were different and delicious. I liked the fruity dressing along with the avocado smear.

Slow roasted beef dip - Bongo Johnny's
Cheese, toasted asiago roll, beef au jus, served with French fries. $11.95
Bongo Johnny’s, Palm Springs CA

This sandwich was REALLY dry – from the bun to the roast beef. The beef was almost like jerky, gross! #foodfail

Bbq pork and shrimp wonton soup - Lee's Deli
With bok choy, green onion, cilantro. $8
Lee’s Deli, San Francisco CA

Adding the bbq pork to my usual wonton soup definitely made for a hearty and filling soup. This definitely hit the spot!

Applewood smoked bacon - Wolf
Side $5
Wolf, Los Angeles CA

Mmm, I love bacon! These were on the greasy side, but they still tasted really good. They should have drained them a bit before serving though.

Larb ped - Banana House
Boneless duck seasoned with onions, cucumber, and roasted ground rice in spicy sauce. $11
Banana House, San Francisco CA

This duck salad was a nice change from the usual Thai dishes that I normally order. I liked the flavors in this dish, but there wasn’t much duck.

Bacon, blue & beets salad - Boudin Bakery and Cafe
Grilled chicken, green beans, mixed greens. $10.29
Boudin Bakery and Cafe, San Francisco CA

This seasonal salad was good. I liked the beets and blue cheese with the greens beans, a combination they normally don’t offer.

Maine scallop crudo - Reservoir
Pickled beets, celery leaves, horseradish cream. $13

This was a good dish. I wish the scallop tasted and felt more fresh though. I enjoyed all the flavors though.

#19 Pastrami, Swiss cheese and cole slaw sandwich - Langer's Deli
With Russian style dressing on rye bread. $16.95
Langer’s Deli, Los Angeles CA

This was a solid sandwich. The pastrami was delicious as was the rye bread. I don’t think it was the best Jewish deli I’ve been to on the West Coast, but it was definitely on the better end.

Foie gras terrine - Ink
Fermented cherries, walnuts, nasturtium. $22
Ink, Los Angeles CA

This dish was beautiful and delicious! I loved the fermented cherries and they tasted great with the foie gras terrine. I was dining alone so I had to eat all of this (poor me, lol). Seriously though, this was was a lot of fat for one person, but it was SO good!

French onion soup - Bongo Johnny's
Cup $3.95
Bongo Johnny’s, Palm Springs CA

This wasn’t the best onion soup I’ve had, but I appreciated the abundance of melted cheese on top. The soup itself was on the thin and salty side.

Chicken cheese enchiladas – The Corner Deli

Chicken cheese enchiladas - The Corner Deli
Served with Spanish rice. $8
The Corner Deli, Palm Springs CA

Gross! This was probably the worst enchilada dish I’ve ever had (and that’s saying a lot)! All the textures and flavors were SO wrong. It tasted like crap and I wish I could erase this meal from my memory.
