Cheese and wine – Z Hotel Soho

Cheese plate - Z Hotel Soho
Assorted cheese, olive, biscuit, raisin and hazelnut bread. Complimentary
Z Hotel Soho, London ENGLAND

The Z Hotel had a great complimentary cheese and wine break available in the early evening. They set it up in their cafe and actually had a pretty good selection of snacks and alcohol. We only made it down for one evening, but we had a great time. I was generally impressed by the professionalism and service from the Z Hotel staff overall. Although the rooms were super small, the central location of the hotel was perfect for this visit! πŸ™‚

Breakfast plate – Dolce Sitges

Breakfast plate - Dolce Sitges
Spanish tortilla, Iberico ham, sausage, scrambled eggs, hazelnuts, cheese, toast, orange juice, coffee.
Dolce Sitges, Sitges ES

The breakfast buffet at Dolce Sitges was pretty kick-ass! This was only one plate I ate, but they definitely had much more to offer. We were unapologetic about loading up on breakfast before heading out for a day of sightseeing, hehe. We paid for it, right? And I felt like we would burn off the calories anyway. One downside to eating SO much breakfast was that I missed out on some food opportunities while touring simply because was still full. #touristproblems πŸ™‚

Iberico ham legs
Iberico ham legs. This was a first! I’d never seen carving stations like this before where you can order as much ham as you want and the attendant will carve it directly off the leg. Now that’s what I call “cut-to-order”!

Foie gras terrine – Dolce Sitges

Foie gras terrine - Dolce Sitges
Fruit preserves, toast points, side salad.
Dolce Sitges, Sitges ES

This was SO good! I think they really skimped on the toast points though considering the large slab of the foie gras terrine, lol. Oh well, I made do. πŸ™‚

Art nouveau clock tower

Art nouveau clock tower, Placa Cap de la Vila. The narrow streets of Sitges provide a surprise around every corner!

BLT sandwich – Dolce Sitges

Wow, this hotel was beautiful! It’s situated on a hill above the town with great views of the Mediterranean. After taking the train from Barcelona, I was super hungry when I arrived so I went straight to lobby bar/restaurant and ordered some food and mojitos! Mmm, just what the doctor ordered.

Passeig Maritim
Passeig Maritim, the main drag along the beaches. Sitges is SO charming with many visitors from all around the world there to enjoy the beautiful beaches and warm weather. The town is small enough to easily navigate, but at the same time feels cosmopolitan because it’s packed with people.

Chocolate chip cookies – DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

This place gives you complimentary cookies when you arrive, mmm!

Chocolate chip cookies - DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Perhaps I would have prefered a complimentary bottle of champagne but I guess cookies will have to do, hehe.

Coffee machine - DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
Hotel room coffee machine with Wolfgang Puck coffee. Because cookies always taste great with creamy coffee!

Poolside drinks – Ace Hotel

Poolside drinks - Ace Hotel
Bikini Blonde lager (Maui Brewing Co.) and a Rose Kennedy cocktail.
Ace Hotel, Palm Springs CA

Can anything be better than enjoying a drink poolside!? We always joke at work that our lives are SO hard, but I know I have it comparatively good.

Bikini Blonde lager - Ace Hotel

I loved the can art for the Bikini Blonde beer!

Ace Hotel pool

Scrambled eggs and sausages – The Abbott Lodge

Scrambled eggs and sausages - The Abbott Lodge
With another slice of “bacon”. Complimentary
The Abbott Lodge, Dublin IRELAND

Again, a little different from the breakfast foods I’m used to. The eggs were scrambled really fine, if that makes sense. And the sausage has such an odd texture, it’s very soft like Vienna sausages. I’m glad that there was a slight sear on the outside otherwise I don’t think I would have eaten much of it. Ketchup was definitely my fried, lol!

Dairy Land Cuisine pure butter - The Abbott Lodge
Dairy Land Cuisine pure butter. I think the clean, simple packaging is cute!

A Spoonful of Irish sugar packets - The Abbott Lodge

A Spoonful of Irish sugar packets. These sachets have cute Irish sayings on the back like “Beauty does not boil the pot” and “The man with boots does not have to worry about where he puts his feet”. Some are funny, but some are just confusing, lol!

William Smith O'Brien statue, by Thomas Farrell

William Smith O’Brien statue, by Thomas Farrell, O’Connell Street. This street has many statues of political figures. O’Brien was an Irish Nationalist and Member of Parliament and leader of the Young Ireland movement. I snapped this quick pic from the Dublin “Green” Bus Tour.

Bacon and eggs breakfast – The Abbott Lodge

Bacon and eggs breakfast - The Abbott Lodge
Fried eggs and “bacon”. Complimentary
The Abbott Lodge, Dublin IRELAND

It always tickles me how food varies depending on where you eat it. For instance, I would never call this “bacon”. For me, I’d call them fried, fatty ham slices. The pepper is also WAY too powdery for my taste.

Batch bread toast - The Abbott Lodge
Toasted batch bread with strawberry jam. Mmm, I do love the bread they have in Ireland. It’s super airy and flavorful.

Assorted Hartley's jams and marmalades - The Abbott Lodge
Assorted Hartley’s jams and marmalades. These are cute!

Wellington Monument obelisk, Phoenix Park

Wellington Monument obelisk, Phoenix Park. This is the tallest obelisk in Europe and the second tallest in the world, second only to the Washington Monument. Phoenix Park is quite large and makes for a great quick getaway from downtown Dublin.
