Hummus trio – SF Uncork’d

Hummus trio - SF Uncork'd
Artichoke, red pepper sundried tomato, and pesto hummus served with pita bread. $9
SF Uncork’d, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

I liked the hummus on the ends, but the artichoke hummus had an odd flavor and texture. It was pretty gross. They also don’t give you enough pita to be able to eat all the hummus and they charge you $1 for extra slices – lame. The wine was decent though.

Rivet Reds flight - SF Uncork'd
Rivet Reds flight: Paul Dolan pinot noir, Qupe syrah, Rock Wall zinfandel. $10

Banh mi – Barndiva

Banh mi - Barndiva
House ground pork loin, shaved cucumber, pickled chili salad, aioli, toasted brioche. $16
Barndiva, Healdsburg CA

Omg, this banh mi sandwich was delicious! I loved all the Asian flavors and side salad of beets, radishes, and kumquats was out of this world. Their potato chips were also very good. They aren’t fried crisp so they are still pretty pliable. They tasted great though. NOMS!

Fish and chips – Floyd’s Frosty

Fish and chips - Floyd's Frosty
Substituted tater tots instead of fries. $11.99
Floyd’s Frosty, McCloud CA

These fried fish were horrible! You could definitely tell they’ve been in the freezer for a long time. They were super greasy and just tasted like the frying oil. The tater tots were somehow much better than the fish even though I’m sure they were deep fried in the same vat.

Grilled lemongrass pork rice vermicelli bowl – Green Papaya

Grilled lemongrass pork rice vermicelli bowl - Green Papaya
Bun thit nuong. Lettuce, carrot, mint, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. $13
Green Papaya, San Francisco CA

This was fine, but I thought that it was slightly overpriced for SF lunch pricing. The quality wasn’t above and beyond anything that you could get cheaper elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be returning to Green Papaya for lunch.

Pastrami and tri-tip sandwich – Mayo & Mustard

Pastrami and tri-tip sandwich - Mayo & Mustard
Bbq and horseradish sauce, chipotle garlic sauce, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, jalapeno, and pepperoncini on Dutch crunch. $9
Mayo & Mustard, San Francisco CA

Omg, this sandwich was amazing! I wasn’t expecting such a delicious sandwich to come out of a food truck for some reason, but this one blew me away! It was jam packed with flavor and the meats were super tender and flavorful. I’ll have to look out for this truck the next time it’s in the neighborhood! 🙂
