With salted caramel sauce. $1.35
Duck Donuts, Herndon VA
I love that they make (or at least top) the doughnuts to order. I chose chocolate and bacon, and OMG, they put a lot of bacon on top! SO delicious!

Glory Doughnuts, Frederick MD
This was the last donut that they had, lol! I arrived a cold morning and apparently I was late because they were pretty much sold out already. I was glad that had one left! Anyway this donut was pretty good. It wasn’t my favorite since there was just too much coconut for my taste. I would have liked to try another flavor to get a sense of their style of donut-making.

Sugar donuts, regular and iced. Complimentary
Super Duper Burgers, San Francisco CA
I went here early one morning right before lunch, and they were giving away donuts with every order. Score! The donuts were good – light and not overly sweet.

Meyer lemon base glazed with huckleberry. $3
Dynamo Donuts and Coffee, San Francisco CA
I chose this donut because of the beautiful, pink huckleberry glaze. I also love lemon flavored pastries so this donut was a winner all around! Dynamo Donuts makes some mighty fine donuts for sure!

SF Giant’s baseball game, AT&T Park.

Cake donut with sprinkles.
Donut King, San Pablo CA
My co-worker sometimes brings these donuts to work. I always try to control myself, but I eventually eat more than I need to. I guess I can’t be trusted around donuts! 🙂

Coconut donut.

Strawberry glazed donut.

Apple cinnamon donut.

That’s right… a peanut butter and jelly doughnut!
Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts, Charleston SC

Ugh, this donut was more sugar than anything else! The glaze was pretty thick and everything just tasted super sweet. I was missing the bold peanut butter flavor that I assumed this donut would deliver and the strawberry jelly just added to the sugar overdose. I’m sad…

Chocolate and orange glaze with homemade candied ginger.
Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts, Charleston SC
Sorry, the donut got smushed a little bit in the to-go bag but that didn’t affect the taste, hehe! The flavor was really good, but I’m not sure that I was a fan of the donut texture. It was on the doughy, dense side. I like donuts that are light, fluffy, and taste like they’ve been cooked all the way through.

Donut with candied orange zest, topped with an orange blossom glaze and drizzled with bittersweet chocolate. $2
Dynamo Donuts and Coffee, San Francisco CA
Dynamo Donuts has got to be my favorite donut shop in The City. It’s a walkable distance from my house and provides the perfect weekend morning treat. This candied orange blossom donut was very tasty!

Scented ‘Lady Plymouth’ geranium flower (Pelargonium graveolens, Geraniaceae), Noe Street. This beautiful plant is in a cute wash basin planter near my gym. I love its light, variegated leaves and small pink flowers.

Cinnamon-sugared doughnut holes.

“Cappuccino semifreddo”, a mousse-like coffee dessert.
The French Laundry, Yountville CA
I guess this is a Thomas Keller signature combination that’s no longer available on the regular menu. We got it for free at the end of the meal (thanks again Olivia) and they were AMAZING!

They also brought out a bowl of hard caramel-covered macadamia nuts. Yes, please!
Rau ram (Vietnamese coriander), crispy shallots, black pepper, topped with sliced Chinese donuts. $9
Out The Door, San Francisco
This was SO good! This had an amazing, intense chicken flavor and I liked the texture of this porridge better than most congees I’ve tried. And for $9, shut the front door! This is a must try.
A chocolate doughnut topped with chocolate fudge icing. Stopped by Starbucks in Banning on the drive back to San Francisco. This mini donut is the exactly the small sugary snack I needed to get me through the morning drive. $0.95
Starbucks, Banning CA
Skinny caramel macchiato.
Pistachio donut with lemon zest, lemon icing and toasted pistachios. $3
Dynamo Donuts and Coffee, San Francisco
I think this is the first time I’ve ever had this flavor combination in anything, and now I’m a huge fan! They tasted great together and the donut was simply perfect. The sugar glaze and pistachios added a great crunch, and while the lemon flavor was less pronounce it was very good. This donut was fluffy, light and yummy – noms!
Small coffee. $2.25
