Pepperoni slice – Escape From New York Pizza

Pepperoni slice - Escape From New York Pizza
Sprinkled with additional parmesan, oregano and red pepper flakes. $4.14
Escape From New York Pizza, San Francisco CA

I love a good slice of pepperoni pizza. It’s simple, classic and usually delicious. I liked the one from Escape only when it’s fresh from the oven. Thank goodness they had just put this one out on display. Yay!

This sandwich was pretty tasty! It was filled with plenty of prosciutto and mozzarella, and the arugula was a great addition. The exterior was also wonderfully buttery and grilled. Noms!

Breakfast buffet – Hilton Garden Inn Cupertino

Breakfast buffet - Hilton Garden Inn Cupertino
Breakfast potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs. Complimentary
Hilton Garden Inn Cupertino, Cupertino CA

This was gross except for the bacon! The eggs were super wet, the salsa tasted old, and the potatoes (actually, everything) was super cold. Lame. The old lady servicing the dining area was really sweet though. Slow, but sweet.

Chicken fried steak and eggs – Joe’s Place

Chicken fried steak and eggs - Joe's Place
Sausage gravy, eggs over medium, served with hashbrowns and wheat toast. $10.50
Joe’s Place, Paso Robles CA

I had mixed feelings about this dish. I liked the flavor of the chicken fried steak and gravy. I though the hashbrowns were burnt and my eggs were overcooked. The gravy was also almost too thick for my liking. The wheat toast was delicious.

Wheat toast - Joe's Place
Wheat toast.

Chicken teriyaki – Sarku Japan

Chicken teriyaki - Sarku Japan
With mixed vegetables and steamed rice. $6.59
Sarku Japan, San Francisco CA

I thought this was a pretty good lunch option, especially at the price. I think they had just opened, because the guy working the grill didn’t have much cooking yet so it took a while to get any of the food out. I thought the chicken was decent (not too salty from the teriyaki sauce). Next time I’ll ask for more veggies and less rice.
