I think gougeres are simply magic. This version was larger than most, but slightly over done on the outside (a pity). It still had a good flavor and a fluffy interior though. $4
Tartine Bakery, San Francisco CA

Topped with ranchera sauce and queso fresco. $4.50
Tropisueno, San Francisco CA
This enchilada was good, but kinda small for the price. I liked the ranchera flavor and the queso. The chicken was pretty standard.

Guacamole. Side $1
I do love their salsa bar and the orange habanero salsa is the best!

Each $1.70
Kings Bakery Cafe, San Francisco CA
I like churros, but these weren’t very good. Maybe it’s because I picked them up in the morning and waited to eat them. They were too chewy by the time I tried them. The custard filling was also a bit grainy and dry.

Circle of puff pastry at its base with a ring of pâte à choux piped on the outer edge, small cream puffs dipped in caramelized sugar, base filled with crème chiboust and finished with whipped cream. $38.75
Dianda’s Italian American Pastry, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this beautiful cake was so delicious! Everyone was delighted by it at work. It’s so different from a regular sheet cake and such a novelty that it’s sure to please. The rum flavor permeated throughout and was very yummy. A definite winner!

Topped with slaw and blue cheese. $8.50
Derby Grill, San Francisco CA
I liked the buffalo flavor, but the chicken was pretty dry. I also didn’t like the thick roll that it was served on.

Two enchiladas filled with grilled chicken, cheese, queso fresco, grilled onions and poblano peppers, served with black beans, Mexican rice and topped with red sauce, sour cream, chopped onions and cilantro. $10.75
The Little Chihuahua, San Francisco CA
These enchiladas were ok, but I had actually ordered them “for here” so it was annoying to sit at a table and eat out of a “to-go” container. I don’t understand right now…!

Chiffonade romaine lettuce, Point Reyes blue cheese, crispy applewood smoked bacon, all natural diced chicken, chopped egg, diced tomato, red wine vinaigrette dressing. $8.69
Boudin Bakery and Cafe, San Francisco CA
I liked/hated that they include a good amount of bacon in this salad. I guess that if you’re really trying to eat a healthier lunch, perhaps a cobb salad isn’t the best option. It was pretty good though.

Classic waffle with blueberry jam, whipped cream and fresh blueberries. $8
Lt. Waffle, San Francisco CA
I actually ordered this with on a buckwheat waffle, but I guess they were SO busy with the two other people in the entire place that they couldn’t even get that right. I have no patience for incompetence.

Latte. $4.50

Shaking beef with eggplant chips, seared pineapple, pickled veggies, cucumber, papaya vinaigrette, fresh herbs, sprouts, toasted almonds, green onions. $9.49
Bamboo Asia, San Francisco CA
This salad was a flavor explosion! I loved the eggplant chips and there were so many great ingredients. Even the shaking beef, which can usually be gross tasting elsewhere, was tasty and tender. This can definitely be a repeat lunch place.

Panko and bacon encrusted chicken breast, bacon strips, cole slaw, bacon mayo. $9
Bacon Bacon, San Francisco CA
Omg, I am literally trying to kill myself! This sandwich was delicious, but SO bad for you and there was even two pieces of fried chicken in it. Ugh. I – can’t – feel – my – heart…

Served with pickle. $8.75
Derby Grill, San Francisco CA
Ballpark food can be unpredictable but this was actually ok. Not the best, but pretty decent! It was quite large and the pulled pork was tasty with the potato bun. Go Giants!

With brown rice and hot curry. $8.45
Muracci’s Japanese Curry & Grill, San Francisco CA
Mmm, I love the curry at Muracci’s! This chicken curry was really tasty and I love their hot (spicy level) curry option. I just wish there was a little more chicken, but the price is great regardless. Noms!
