Restaurant week dinner $65
Aatxe, San Francisco CA
Ugh, sorry that this pic is SO dark! Anyway, these croquetas were really good. They were a little salty, but I liked the texture and they were fried perfectly.

Marinated chicken breast cooked in clay oven. $5.99
Curry Boyzz, San Francisco CA
This was pretty good for six bucks. The chicken tandoori was tender and juicy and the marinade tasted good. I also liked that it came with a bit of something on the side.

Fried chicken wings tossed in sweet and spicy house sauce. $9.50
Stone Korean Kitchen, San Francisco CA
The flavor of these wings was good, but they were a bit over-fried and therefore dry. They were pretty difficult to bite through. I liked the sticky house sauce though.

Carrot, satsuma, shiitake furikake. Four course menu $59
Aster, San Francisco CA
Again, this was forgettable. The pork was cooked ok (perhaps on the dry side of perfect), but it lacked a nice punch of flavor. The carrots were nice, but all the flavors just didn’t come together.

With nepitella shortbread. Pasta tasting $70
Flour + Water, San Francisco CA
This was a great refreshing ending to a delicious pasta dinner. The meyer lemon flavor was bright and was great with the crumbled shortbread.
7×7 Magazine’s Big Eat SF: 100 Things to Try Before You Die

Roasted golden and red beets, goat cheese, almonds, balsamic vinaigrette. $10
Poesia, San Francisco CA
This beet salad was simple, but nicely presented. The ingredients tasted great together and the textures were wonderful.

Peroni beer.

With chicken broth. $8.50
Washington Bakery & Restaurant, San Francisco CA
These were the largest mustard greens I’d ever seen! Lol. I’m not sure how different Chinese mustard is from regular mustard we get at the supermarket, but these were very different. They tasted great though tossed in the simple garlic sauce.

Tea.

Heritage Duroc pig tripe, spicy broth, fermented turnip greens, Brancha cheese. NYE tasting menu $175
Californios, San Francisco CA

Salmon, mascarpone and capers / romesco and roasted zucchini / sauteed mushrooms and pecorino.
Fiore Caffe, San Francisco CA
These weren’t my favorite. The bread was really hard and dry and the toppings were as refined and flavorful as they could have been.

Bacon, two eggs, mozzarella, pecorino, and cracked black pepper. $15
Beretta, San Francisco CA
This pizza was very good! The crust was thin and delicious and the toppings were wonderful! Sure it was rich, fatty and heavy but all the flavors and textures worked perfectly together. Noms!

Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. $7

Truffle butter hollandaise, chorizo bits. Restaurant week dinner $65
Aatxe, San Francisco CA
This tortilla was fine, but it was the truffle butter hollandaise and chorizo bits on top that put it over the top. Mmm!

Lamb cooked with potatoes in special sauces. $8.99
Curry Boyzz, San Francisco CA
I liked the flavor of this lamb vindaloo, but I thought that perhaps the sauce was just a tad too thick. There also wasn’t very much lamb in there.

Plain naan layered with butter. Each $1.49
