San Rafael Joe’s, San Rafael CA
I definitely liked this better than their bruschetta. The batter was nice and light and it wasn’t too greasy. A healthy squeeze of lemon was really helped out too.

One 4 ounce patty, ground daily all natural Niman Ranch beef. “Everything on it” with lettuce, tomato, red onions, Super sauce, and cheese. $5.50
Super Duper Burgers, San Francisco CA
Mmm, I love Super Duper burgers. The mini is the perfect size for lunch and not too heavy to induce an afternoon food coma, although it tastes and eats like a substantial burger.

Sidewalk stencil.

Pasta filled with roasted meats and savoy cabbage, sugo d’arrosto. $19
Perbacco, San Francisco CA
This tasted amazing! It was rich and meaty and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I don’t have agnolotti very often, but I loved it’s shape and small size. I don’t know if it was the sauce or the filling, but this had kinda of a grainy texture that was new and fun. The flavors were SO wonderful though. I could have eaten another plate!

Hog Island Oyster Bar, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was pretty delicious! The chowder was rich and flavorful, but it wasn’t thick. All the ingredients were quality and cooked perfectly. The chowder tasted great and just made you feel good eating it. Noms!

I love their bread!

Horseradish creme fraiche, almond, watercress. Happy hour $5
Luc, Seattle WA
Mmm, this little beet salad was very tasty. I loved the combination of the horseradish creme fraiche with the crispy watercress and crunchy almonds. The beets were also delicious.

Pink peony flower, Port Orchard.

$9.25
San Rafael Joe’s, San Rafael CA
This was kinda lame and I probably could make a better version at home. In fact, I have made better versions. This was REALLY basic, and not in a good way.

Manhattan.

Glass noodles, eggplant, and black bean fish. $6.25
B & M Mei Sing Restaurant, San Francisco CA
Hmm, as lunchtime Chinese fast food goes, this was ok. You definitely get more noodles than anything, and much smaller portions of proteins. Everything was also on the salty side. Even though the eggplants were kinda greasy, they still tasted pretty good.

Bernal Heights Hill Park.

A selection of house cured salumi inspired by traditional Piemontese recipes. $14
Perbacco, San Francisco CA
Wow, this salumi plate was delicious! Each variety had a unique flavor and texture and I enjoyed every one. I love that they cure all of it in-house, and I also liked the super thin cuts. Noms!

Paulaner, hefeweizen, Germany. $6

Anchovies, butter, capers, garlic, parsley. $13
Hog Island Oyster Bar, San Francisco CA
Hmm, I thought that I would like these grilled oysters better than raw ones but I think my tastes have changed. I used to love grilled oysters, and these were plenty tasty, but now I prefer the freshness of the raw variety.

Breaking down a flounder(?) at Hog Island Oyster Bar.

Hoisin, kohlrabi, apple, watercress, fermented walnut aioli. Happy hour $7
Luc, Seattle WA
For a little slider, this dish certainly packed a lot of flavor. The components of this slider were absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. The pork belly was especially tender and juicy.

4th of July Parade, Port Orchard.

Sunday brunch buffet
Seasons, Washington DC
Mmm, this dessert plate had some of my favorites of the day. I’m looking back at these pics and am amazed that I’m not 300 pounds, lol! I guess that’s why I hit the gym daily. 🙂

Shenandoah Caverns, Quicksburg VA.

Signature curry broth, cabbage, sprouts, Fresno peppers, shiitake mushrooms, rice noodles, pulled chicken and pork, lime and cilantro. Served with toasted Asian flatbread. $8.69
Noodles & Company, San Francisco CA
This was a pretty lame attempt at a Thai hot pot. It barely tasted Thai at all. The chicken and pork were dry and the broth was almost bland. That Asian flatbread was also weird, almost burnt, and tasted like crap. Overall, not a very good lunch choice.

Crocus and narcissus flowers, Market Street.
