Vegetable frittata – The Grille at Shadowrock

Vegetable frittata - The Grille at Shadowrock
Farm fresh eggs, spinach, mushrooms, fingerling potatoes, roasted tomatoes, swiss cheese, roasted red pepper sauce. $13.75
The Grille at Shadowrock, Sedona AZ

This frittata was very hearty and pretty yummy. I liked that it was cooked and served in the mini cast iron pan – that was cool.

Huevos rancheros - The Grille at Shadowrock
Two over easy eggs, cheddar cheese, crisp corn tortillas, black beans, tomatillo salsa. $12
The Grille at Shadowrock, Sedona AZ

I really liked this breakfast item! It was presented a little bit differently as a stacked dish. It was fun to eat and the tomatillo salsa tasted great with the black beans and crispy tortillas. The eggs were also cooked nicely, still runny and perfect.

Sunday brunch plate 3 – The Ahwahnee Hotel

Sunday brunch plate 3 - The Ahwahnee Hotel
Pineapple upside down cake, sticky cake, marble loaf, cheese blintz. Sunday brunch buffet $49
The Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite National Park CA

Dessert plate time! None of this was very amazing, but I think the pineapple upside down cake was my favorite. The berry compote on the cheese blintz was also good.

Sunday brunch plate 2 - The Ahwahnee Hotel
Eggs benedict, smoked mussel, applewood smoked bacon, fried butterflied shrimp, macaroni and cheese. Sunday brunch buffet $49
The Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite National Park CA

This was my heavy plate full of greasy, cheesy, and fried food and I quite enjoyed it! They weren’t the best versions of anything (especially the tough mussels), but they were tasty enough and filled me up.

Sunday brunch plate 1 - The Ahwahnee Hotel
Gulf white shrimp, oyster on the half shell, smoked wild salmon, cold cuts, cheese and marinated vegetables. Sunday brunch buffet $49
The Ahwahnee Hotel, Yosemite National Park CA

The Ahwahnee Hotel is beautiful and historic so it was great to have Sunday brunch there. There was a great selection and I thought that the fifty buck price tag was very reasonable. I didn’t think the oysters (and the seafood in general) were very fresh though – the oysters actually grossed me out. The dining room was warm and comfortable and the service was great.

I attended a 2-day conference in Crystal City and they would put out snacks and desserts after lunch before the afternoon sessions began. The desserts weren’t that great, but they were a pleasant distraction from the conference at hand. Hehe!

Dancing chefs at the Sea Breeze Cafe, Boracay

Multiple times a night, the chefs at the action station in front of the Sea Breeze Cafe take a little time out from cooking to give a dance performance for the passersby along the White Beach Path. During this particular set, they dance to “Nobody” by the Wonder Girls and “Gangnam Style” by Psy. It was really fun to watch and the crowd gets into it!

Argh, the final breakfast in Boracay! It was an awesome island visit and I hope to be back in the future. AND this was probably my favorite breakfast options during our stay at the Regency, so it was a great to end on a positive note.
