General Tso’s chicken – Eric’s Restaurant

General Tso's chicken - Eric's Restaurant
Green onions. $11.50
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco CA

The price of this dish has gone up considerably over the last years, and it’s also less saucy these days. I’m less of a fan of it now. It seems like they’ve changed the recipe for the worse and charge more for it.

Eric’s spicy eggplant – Eric’s Restaurant

Eric's spicy eggplant - Eric's Restaurant
Eggplant with chicken, shrimp, red bell pepper, and basil in a special spicy sauce. $11.95
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco CA

The price has gone up since last time, but only slightly. I still really like this dish from Eric’s. There’s a good variety of flavors and the sauce is tasty. It could be a bit spicier though since it’s advertised that way.

I’ve always loved this dish at Eric’s. The sauce is super tasty and the combination of proteins and vegetables is wonderful. It can be oily, but that’s common for most Chinese places so I’m not gonna judge it too harshly. Only if it was overly oily and greasy.

Mongolian beef – Eric’s Restaurant

Mongolian beef Eric's Restaurant

Sauteed beef slices with onions and dried chilies in a special sauce. $9
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco

I love Eric’s Mongolian beef! It has a rich, deep salty umami flavor that I’m partial to. The dish is primarily beef with just a few sliced onions and dried chilies. And I can’t complain about that! Just serve on top of rice and be happy.  🙂

Governor’s chicken kew – Eric’s Restaurant

Governor's chicken kew Eric's Restaurant

Sauteed boneless chicken with broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, baby corn, and peas in a spicy garlic sauce. $8.75
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco

This was the first time I’ve tried this dish and it tasted pretty good! The chicken was tender and there was a lot vegetables to balance out the rich garlic sauce. I’ve never actually eaten at the restaurant, but I’ve had plenty of to-go orders since it’s SO close to my house. They don’t deliver, but the walk over helps to get me hungry, hehe!

Sauteed eggplant with chicken, shrimp, red bell pepper, and basil in a special spicy sauce.  $9.75
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco

I’m an eggplant fanatic so, naturally, this is one of my favorite dishes at Eric’s.  You also get a great combination of different proteins with the beautifully sauteed eggplants.  The sauce is so flavorful and made even better with the basil.  My only complaint is that I always order this extra spicy, but I always receive it with barely any spice.  C’mon people, gimme some heat!!!  🙂

General Tso’s chicken – Eric’s Restaurant

General Tso's chicken Eric's Restaurant

Breaded and deep fried chicken pieces topped with a special sauce.  $8.75
Eric’s Restaurant, San Francisco

“General Tso’s chicken” can mean anything on a Chinese restaurant menu.   If you haven’t been to that particular restaurant before, you can expect to get just about anything.  The General Tso’s chicken at Eric’s Restaurant is one of my favorites.  The nuggets are pretty meaty (meaning they’re not overly breaded) and the sauce is absolutely delicious.  It was a great dark, garlicky flavor and it’s nice and sticky.  Noms!
