With mac and cheese, coleslaw. SF BBQ Festival
City Smoke House, San Francisco CA
This plate was great overall. I loved the brisket sandwich and the mac and cheese. The spare ribs were on the tough side and the bbq sauce was on the plain side.

Marinated short rib, ssamjang aioli, Asian slaw, cilantro, onion, roasted sesame seeds. ₩7,900
Vatos Urban Tacos, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
These tacos were great! The short rib was so flavorful and the ssamjang aioli was super tasty. The tortillas were really different too. They almost seemed like they were made from rice instead of corn. It seemed fitting.

Chips and salsa. Complimentary

₩5,000
Starbucks, San Francisco CA
Yet another example of how United States Starbucks desserts really suck compared to their foreign stores. We don’t get any cool cakes like this back in the States. The barista had attitude though! They need to train them better in Seoul.

Dumplings. ₩3,000
Nolboo Kitchen, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
These dumplings were ok, but nothing special. They were a bit bland so I ended up throwing them into my beef stew.

Banchan. Complimentary

Smoked salmon, capers, cucumber, onion, cheese, and crackers. Complimentary in Executive Lounge
Millennium Seoul Hilton, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
This was definitely the lighter side of breakfast. I liked that Hilton provides these options. The cucumbers were dry though. It seemed like they had been sitting out for a while.

Sausage wrapped with fish paste. ₩2,500
Namdaemun Market, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
I liked how this tasted. The fish paste exterior had a nice flavor, but the sausage casing was really difficult to bite into. This made for a messy meal since it was already covered in “ketchup”.

Food stand with lot of food on sticks!

Served with cole slaw. SF BBQ Festival
Bonehead’s Texas BBQ, San Francisco CA
This was good. I loved the sauce on the pork rib, and the pulled pork in the slider was nice and tender. The cole slaw was too runny and over-dressed for my liking.

Seasoned French fries, braised carnitas, sauteed kimchi, cheese, cilantro onion, sour cream, Vatos hot sauce. ₩12,500
Vatos Urban Tacos, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
This was sinfully yummy! I wish there was more Korean flavors in there to make it more interesting, but it was pretty damn good overall. A definite gut-buster but it certainly hits the spot and tastes great with beer!

Magpie pale ale. ₩7,500

Serrano ham, bechamel. $7
Julian Serrano, Las Vegas NV
Ugh, another over-priced tiny-assed tapa from Julian Serrano. This kind of crap gives tapas a bad name. And it was over-fried! Lame.

Spicy sausage stew. ₩22,000
Nolboo Kitchen, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
I don’t even know what all was in this stew, but it certainly was delicious! There was fatty beef, different kinds of sausages, dumplings, beans, different noodles, and vegetables. It wasn’t overly spicy – just enough to keep me want to go back for more! It was definitely an experience to try to order this from our waitress, lol. And then it was fun to see the dish cook and come together. Noms!

The pot after it had finished boiling and the server had put all the ingredients in.

Finally in my bowl. Eat up!

Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, hash brown. Complimentary in Executive Lounge
Millennium Seoul Hilton, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
This was decent for Hilton breakfast buffet food. The Executive Lounge was great though with a wonderful view of Namsan Mountain. One of the server/busser was a jerk though. He had a total attitude!

₩16,000
Bbobbo Chicken & Beer, Seoul SOUTH KOREA
This was different. The chicken was good, but the garlic paste that it was brushed with had an interesting texture. The chicken was also crudely chopped so most pieces were primarily bone. That really didn’t stop me though since I’m not afraid to get down and dirty and eat with my hands. Perhaps I should have order chicken wings though, lol!

Hite beer. ₩4,000

Popcorn. Complimentary

Pickled radish(?). Complimentary
