Three pieces $5.90
Koi Palace, Daly City CA
Mmm, these were delicious and one of my favorites from the meal. I loved the XO sauce and dried pork(?) on top. The shrimp filling was also very good.

Fried pastry shells stuffed with roasted cumin potatoes. Single $1
Chaat Cafe, San Francisco CA

Mmm, this large samosa was delicious! I outside was hot and flaky and the inside was soft and flavorful. A great yummy treat to accompany my lunch meal.

Steak, pepperoni, grilled onions, green peppers, provolone. Small $6.49
Charley’s Grilled Subs, San Francisco CA
I’ve decided that I should never eat here again. The quality sucks and the sandwiches are small and don’t taste very good. Shame on me for returning here a second time (but I did use a coupon). 🙂

Local dungeness crab cake served with honey mustard and watercress salad. $18
Farina, San Francisco CA
I guess this restaurant was ok, but they doubled charged us on an item. Lame! These crab cakes were quite large, but I’m not sure how a Dendrobium flower works with an Italian restaurant.

Bread basket. Complimentary

Little neck clams, Yukon gold potatoes, smoked bacon, and cream. Cup $7.50
Sam’s Chowder House, Half Moon Bay CA
Mmm, this was pretty tasty. I liked the flavor and there was a good amount of ingredients in the chowder, but it still didn’t compare to the chowder at Spud Point Crab Company.

Bread and butter. Complimentary

Four pieces $4.90
Koi Palace, Daly City CA
Ugh, I hate these foil tin holders! They’re SO tacky. But I guess they needed them at Koi Palace because all of our xlb dumplings were already leaking when they arrive. Lame…

Dirty fish tanks at Koi Palace.

House roasted spices, tomatoes, onions, cream and fenugreek, served with plain naan. $7.99
Chaat Cafe, San Francisco CA
I liked this. The sauce wasn’t as creamy tasting as other tikka masalas I’ve had, and it had more prominent flavors of spice. They didn’t give you much chicken, but I expect that now from most Indian restaurants. It still made for a hearty lunch though.

Charley’s Grilled Subs, San Francisco CA
I would normally say that you really can’t go wrong with French fries covered in nacho cheese and bacon bits, but these weren’t very good. The fries were soft and soggy, yuck!

Sonoma Coast State Park.

Black beans, rice, salad. $8.75
Tropisueno, San Francisco CA

I didn’t like this very much. I thought the flavor combinations were weird and didn’t work well together. Carrot, raisin, and pine nuts aren’t a good combo.

Sonoma Coast State Park.

Happy hour $5
Mr. Smith’s, San Francisco CA
There aren’t a lot of decent restaurants or bars near the Orpheum Theatre, so Mr. Smith’s is a great place to go for a nice drink before seeing a show.

Sonoma Coast State Park.

1/4 pound of fresh picked crab mixed with homemade sauce served on a soft roll. $11.95
Spud Point Crab Company, Bodega Bay CA
Mmm, the roll was soft and easy to chew and the crab was fresh and delicious! I wish there was more crab, but I appreciated the reasonable price. Noms!

Bodega Harbor.

Marinated lamb in a ring of hummus with onions, tomatoes and tahini sauce. Served with pita bread. $13
Sunrise Deli, San Francisco CA
Ugh, the lamb was really tough! I liked the hummus and pickled vegetables and the lamb actually had a nice flavor, but after a while my mouth grew tired of chewing the meat.
