Cypress: California sparkling wine and fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice. $8
Mimosa: California sparkling wine and fresh-squeezed orange juice. $8
Liberty Cafe, San Francisco CA
I was appalled by the horrible customer service at Liberty Cafe. They super slow and snarky, as if the patrons were doing them a favor by eating at their establishment. Please! I will definitely not be returning to this lame restaurant!
Wow, this was a super large mimosa glass! But I ain’t complaining, lol! It was great having a relaxing lunch and catching up with an long time friend. Two for $7
Bongo Johnny’s, Palm Springs CA
Stacked rocks, Mt. San Jacinto summit.
Sparkling wine and orange juice. $10 each
King’s Highway, Palm Springs CA
I guess this space used to be a Denny’s or an IHOP, but they’ve turned it into a funky, warm retro restaurant. The staff is super hipster and friendly. A bit on the slow side but hipsters can’t be bother, hehe.
Ahhh, all done!
Cholla Cactus Garden (Cylindropuntia bigelovii, Cactaceae) filled with Teddy Bear chollas, Joshua Tree National Park.
Divisadero: rye, campari, carpano, fresh orange. $10
Tsunami, San Francisco CA
Wow, I really am becoming a whiskey drinker, lol! I think my favorite of these drinks was the Tsunami Old Fashioned. It tasted great and went down smoothly.
Tsunami Old Fashioned: bourbon, aromatic bitters, orange bitters, cane sugar, orange essence. $10
Bulleit Manhattan: bourbon, sweet vermouth, bitters. $10
Starbelly, San Francisco CA
This visit to Starbelly was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The service was horrendous and the food and drinks could not have come any slower. The time elapsed between our appetizer and entree was just stupidly long. While these cocktails tasted fine, the time it took waiting for them completely erased any enjoyment we could have derived from their consumption.
Huggo’s Ali’i Mai Tai: 10 Cane rum, Lemon Hart 151, pineapple juice, exotic liqueurs with a Gosling’s dark rum float. $11
Huggo’s on the Rocks, Kailua-Kona HI
Vacation is relaxing outside, taking in some rays, and sipping on sweet, girly tropical drinks. Lol! I think we accomplished that in Hawaii. This mai tai was a little on the “too” sweet side, and the margarita was super weak and a bit bland. Oh well, can’t win em all…
Huggo’s Famous Back Bar Margarita: premium tequila, grand marnier, lemon and lime juices with a splash of orange juice. $11
Bird of paradise flowers (Strelitzia reginae, Strelitziaceae), KOA airport.
Standard bloody mary. $7
Circa 59, Palm Springs CA
I’ve already expressed my extreme disappointment of this restaurant so I don’t have to say too much more. This restaurant sadly relies heavily on the posh hotel and hip clientele and has placed little to no importance on the actual food or service.
Notice the empty water glasses at the table during this hot, sunny day. We were stranded at our table without a server in sight. After sweating for a while, we were finally able to flag down a manager to get us some water.
Sequin artwork, Riviera Resort.
Hand-crafted margarita featuring Patron Silver and a touch of fresh orange juice. Served on the rocks. $9
Wet Ultra Lounge, Reno NV
This was a pretty nicely made cocktail. It wasn’t too sweet or sour, and it went down smoothly! Yum.
View of Lake Tahoe from Mount Rose.
Grape distilled tequila, orange juice, pomegranate juice, and grenadine. $6.50
900 Grayson, Berkeley CA
This was very refreshing and had a lot of flavor. A great way to start the weekend!
Mimosas for brunch – a necessary standard for me, hehe! $9
Universal Cafe, San Francisco CA
I thought this pic of 2 black cats in my neighborhood was appropriate for today’s Halloween post. 🙂
Orange-pomegranate (above) and pomegranate-grapefruit (below). Huge $12 each
Mission Beach Cafe, San Francisco CA
Mmm, these things were definitely huge and gave me quite the buzz after brunch was over. Gotta love Sunday Fundays!
16th Street Bart Station, The Mission. I love the colorful Hispanic style decorations on the fences along the station.
Mmm, mimosa time! Mimosas always indicate weekend brunch to me, and I’ll never turn one down. Here’s to the weekend! Two for $5 with brunch entree
Crave, Mount Pleasant SC
15-star “Star Spangled Banner” American flag, Fort Moultrie. They changed the flag from 13 to 15 stars with the addition of Vermont and Kentucky to the Union.
