Benedictberg – DGS Delicatessen

Benedictberg - DGS Delicatessen
Poached eggs, DGS smoked salmon, latkes, sumac hollandaise. $12
DGS Delicatessen, Washington DC

This was another disappointment. The latkes were over-fried and greasy, and the eggs were poached hard. They may have been sitting under the warmer for too long(?). That would make sense since the service was SO slow. I wasn’t a fan of the sumac hollandaise either.

Bottomless mimosa - DGS Delicatessen
Bottomless mimosa. Yeah right! We would finish a glass but the server was never around to give us a refill. They should really call it “bottomless mimosas if the server feels like taking the time to do his job”. #lame

Shakshouka – DGS Delicatessen

Shakshouka - DGS Delicatessen
Poached eggs, tomato and roasted pepper stew, grilled bread. $12
DGS Delicatessen, Washington DC

This certainly wasn’t what I expected. This was actually just baked eggs (not even poached) in some tomato and pepper sauce. It was kinda weird and had an odd  flavor that I couldn’t quite pin down. I wouldn’t order this again.

Corned beef hash – de Vere’s Irish Pub

Corned beef hash - de Vere's Irish Pub
Two eggs over medium, breakfast potatoes, red bell pepper, red onion, Irish brown bread. $11.99
de Vere’s Irish Pub, Sacramento CA

This hash was decent. I liked the Irish brown bread since it was a nice departure from my usual wheat toast. It was a bit dry but was fine with the butter slathered on.

Huevos rancheros – Cafe Mystique

Huevos rancheros - Cafe Mystique
Corn tortillas topped with homemade salsa, black beans, avocado, with two eggs over easy with cheddar cheese, served with potatoes. $8.95
Cafe Mystique, San Francisco CA

Meh, this was ok. It was on the bland side as huevos rancheros go. The potatoes were utterly bland and useless throw-away items. I liked the look of the dish, but I was not fulfilled in any way. And again with the SLOW-ass service/kitchen!

Eggs blackstone – Lark Creek Grill

Eggs blackstone - Lark Creek Grill
Poached eggs, Zoe’s bacon, tomato, English muffin, lemon hollandaise. $14.75
Lark Creek Grill, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Mmm, this tasted great! And I don’t usually say that about airport food. I loved the all the ingredients in the eggs blackstone and the breakfast potatoes were fabulous! Why can’t the food at Yankee Pier be nearly as good? They’re the same restaurant group?

Castro scramble – Cafe Mystique

Castro scramble - Cafe Mystique
Spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, bell pepper, cheddar cheese. Served with breakfast potatoes. $8.95
Cafe Mystique, San Francisco CA

This scramble was good enough I guess. It was nothing special. What I didn’t like was the horrendously SLOW service! Omg, move your feet, man! And the lone cooks needs to speed things up too! There wasn’t even many diners to cook for!

Pastrami and eggs – Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen

Pastrami and eggs - Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen
Pastrami scrambled with eggs served with rye toast, pear. $10
Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen, San Francisco CA

Noms! This place rocks and the workers are pretty cool too. The pastrami is SO delicious as is their rye bread. I wish the bread was thicker, but that’s only because I want more of it, hehe.

Huevos motulenos – The Little Chihuahua

Huevos motulenos - The Little Chihuahua
Two eggs cooked over easy on top of crispy corn tostadas, refried black beans, Royal ham, smothered with their fresh ranchero sauce and queso fresco with a side of Mexican potatoes. $9.50
The Little Chihuahua, San Francisco

Huevos motulenos - The Little Chihuahua
Omg, there was so much food on this plate – definitely a great value that also tasted great! I was surprised by the thickness and size of the ham, honestly. Way too much food for me to finish. The potatoes were also tasty.
