Salumi with a side of booze board – The Partisan

Salumi with a side of booze board - The Partisan
Eva Peron salami, Campari rosemary, foie gras and truffle bologna, poached fig rillettes. $21
The Partisan, Washington DC

Mmm, this was SO delicious! Each of the meats were so distinct and flavorful. It was a toss up on which was my favorite. The tigelle bread was also a nice change from your typical toasted baguette. NOMS!

Kang ka noon – Lotus of Siam

Kang ka noon - Lotus of Siam
Spicy young jack fruit curry. Northern-style curry base, fresh and dried spices, and chicken. $10.95
Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas NV

This curry was different from others I’ve tried. The young jack fruit had an interesting texture and flavor (I guess I’m used to sweetened jack fruit in syrup). It was pretty refreshing though, but I wish that had delivered the spiciness that the menu description promised.

Northern larb – Lotus of Siam

Northern larb - Lotus of Siam
Northern style larb (ground pork) cooked with northern Thai spices without the lime juice, garnished with fresh herbs and vegetables. $11.95
Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas NV

The larb was very different from the usual Isan style, citrus-y larb. I liked the difference though. I will say that I probably like Isan style larb better since it’s a bit more refreshing to me, but this was good to try. I liked the vegetables that came with it!
