House red wine mixed with fruit juices and garnished with diced fruit. Glass $6.50
San Jalisco, San Francisco CA
Mmm, sangria! And this was a pretty large glass, score! It was tasty – not too sweet and it definitely gave me a buzz. π

Breakfast cocktail with fresh strawberry puree. $12
Bar Jules, San Francisco CA
This was just ok tasting. I thought it would be a little sweeter because I assumed the strawberries used in the puree were gonna be super ripe, but this cocktail was pretty sour. And at twelve bucks a pop, you can’t help but feel a little disappointed.

Muddled pineapple, Skyy ginger vodka, orange juice, grapefruit, lime and soda. $12
The Tropicale, Palm Springs CA
Omg, our waitress was a bit wild and crazy, but very entertaining! She was definitely working hard for her tip which I can appreciate. This cocktail was more mellow than I expected (a good thing) and very refreshing. Mmm…

Pimm’s cup and Bloody mary. Each $12.75
Luna Park, San Francisco CA
This restaurant can sure get busy for weekend brunch, but I guess the same holds true for most restaurants in SF. SF’ers are serious about brunch. After waiting in line, it’s always a great idea to order a good cocktail (preferably bottomless, lol). We actually arrived at Luna Park early on to avoid the crowds. It’s a familiar feeling place, but you can’t get served alcohol at their sidewalk tables. Oh well, we had no problem drinking these indoors.

Hiking at Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve.

I love a good sangria when you’re eating tapas. Sometimes I actually prefer it over a glass of wine because to me it’s easier to drink and isn’t as rigid in flavor. Pitcher $12
Alicante, Palm Springs CA

The pool is ready for use!

Fresh muddled blood oranges, mint, lime, Captain Morgan Lime Bite. $10
Alicante, Palm Springs CA
Uh, this drink was super tart and the flavors weren’t sharp and crisp tasting so as a result it wasn’t very refreshing. Not my favorite cocktail…

Rainmaker Fountain, North Palm Canyon Drive.

Mary: Reposado tequila, spicy tomato blend. $10
Balancoire, San Francisco CA
Since our food and service experience at this restaurant was a disaster, we were hoping that they could at least make a decent cocktail. Unfortunately, they couldn’t. The mimosa was super low quality and the bloody mary had a weird aftertaste. Boo!!!

Mimosa. $6

Redwood sorrel (Oxalis oregana, Oxalidaceae), Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve.

Pamplemousse Apertivo: Pamplemousse, aperol, lemon, sparkling wine, graprefruit bitters. $12
Jardiniere, San Francisco CA
The house cocktails at Jardiniere were really well made and delicious. I think my favorite is between the Vieux Carre and the Pamplemousse Apertivo. They’re very different from each other, but both had distinct flavor profiles and went down way too easily. π

Vieux Carre: Rittenhouse rye, Carpano, ‘Antica Formula’ sweet vermouth, Pierre Ferrand cognac, Peychaud’s and Angostura bitters. $12

Lexington (background): Buffalo Trace bourbon, gran classico, Cardamaro, cinnamon bitters. $12

Cachaca 51, muddled lime and sugar over ice. $10
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
I do love a good caipirinha! They are super refreshing and crisp tasting – a great drink to unwind with.

Bloody cranesbill (Geranium sanguineum, Geraniaceae), Marina.

Carafe $25
Blush! Wine Bar, San Francisco CA
Wow, I think we got pretty buzzed off this one carafe of sangria. The sangria was on the sweet side so maybe that’s why it affected us so much. It was great to sit back and relax for the afternoon though.

Colorful portraits mural, The Mission.

With grapefruit juice. $8.50
With orange juice. $8
Plow, San Francisco CA
Yummy mimosas lead to a happy me! I’m kinda annoyed that they charge fifty cents extra for the grapefuit juice though especially since it isn’t listed on their menu.

No Cell Phone sign at the Plow counter. Oops, I still used my to snap food pics! π

Blanco tequila, mezcal, lime, agave. $9
Padrecito, San Francisco CA
It’s unfortunate that this cocktail bears the name of the restaurant because it wasn’t very good. The cocktail was overly sour and had muddled flavors – not a fan…

Washington Square Park Firefighters Memorial, North Beach.
