Bangkok roti – Osha Thai

Bangkok roti - Osha Thai
Green curry with flank beef, Thai eggplant and red bell pepper, served with roti. $19
Osha Thai, San Francisco CA

This tasted good, but definitely overpriced for lunch. I liked the eggplant, but all the vegetables were barely cooked. The beef was also a bit tough. I definitely think that they should have provided more roti for the curry. And the roti were super greasy too (so maybe I wouldn’t want more).

Fried calamari – Jersey

Fried calamari - Jersey
Jalapeno, lemon, marinara. $10
Jersey, San Francisco CA

These were really limp, soggy and greasy. I did not like them at all. The grease just kind of lingered and the thick and rich aioli just made it worse. And they never provided the marinara sauce that was listed on the menu. That would have at least helped with the greasiness.

Fort Point KSA Kolsch - Jersey
Fort Point KSA Kolsch. Happy hour $3

Kimchi balls – Kokio Republic

Kimchi balls - Kokio Republic
Kimchi fried rice balls with bacon, sauteed onions, topped with fried kimchi, parmesan cheese, creamy sriracha, sour cream, and parsley. Combo $12.75
Kokio Republic, San Francisco CA

Wow, these balls just slapped you in the face with flavor! And the kimchi flavor definitely lingered (some mouthwash was definitely needed). These balls were so fun, comforting, and delicious.

Dungeness crab fritters – Restaurant Lulu

Dungeness crab fritters - Restaurant Lulu
Lime creme fraiche, pickled peppers. $8.50
Restaurant Lulu, San Francisco CA

Haha! This was a frickin’ joke! I thought this was literally a joke when they brought this out. It’s the smallest little button fritters I’ve ever seen and they bring it out with oversized serving utensils to make them look even smaller! The slivers of pickled peppers were larger than these sad fried lumps. #FAIL

Hot and sweet boneless chicken breast – Kokio Republic

Hot and sweet boneless chicken breast - Kokio Republic
Topped with sesame seeds, almond, and parsley. Combo $12.75
Kokio Republic, San Francisco CA

Mmm, I loved these warm, sticky, and delicious fried chicken breast pieces! I got the 5 piece combo with the fried balls and it was SO much food. These weren’t “hot” at all so that was kinda disappointing, but they were very addicting.

Hot pastrami sandwich – Mazarine Coffee

Hot pastrami sandwich - Mazarine Coffee
Swiss cheese, Sonoma Brinery sauerkraut and Russian dressing with arugula side salad. $9.75
Mazarine Coffee, San Francisco CA

This was tasty and different. The pastrami seemed like it was lightly fried or broiled so it had crispy pieces which was nice but there wasn’t much of it. They also took FOREVER to get this out, and I don’t know why because I was the only one who ordered hot food from the kitchen.
