Moon biscuits and gravy – Hi-Lo’s 15th Street Cafe

Moon biscuits and gravy - Hi-Lo's 15th Street Cafe
Deluxe with 2 eggs over medium and potatoes. With side of bacon. $8.95
Hi-Lo’s 15th Street Café, Bremerton WA

I liked this breakfast! The biscuit batter is actually poured into a waffle iron so it’s kind of a trip to eat. You think that it’s supposed to taste like a waffle, but it tasted like a biscuit – really fun! The potatoes could have used more seasoning. The place is pretty cute, the service is friendly, and they have a VW van outside that you can also eat in.

Five spice roasted chicken and imperial rolls – Sunflower Vietnamese Restaurant

Five spice roasted chicken and imperial rolls - Sunflower Vietnamese Restaurant
Vermicelli rice noodles with greens. $8.95
Sunflower Vietnamese Restaurant, San Francisco CA

Ugh, I was not impressed… The chicken was dry and really salty so don’t even think about adding any of the fish sauce – you’ll pass a kidney stone. The imperial rolls were delicious, perhaps on the greasy side. I liked the noodles and the fried scallions, but the chicken was gross.

Pancetta benedict – The Fat Hen

Pancetta benedict - The Fat Hen
Served with roasted new potatoes. $13.50
The Fat Hen, Seattle WA

This was pretty tasty. I loved the roasted potatoes! They were perfectly seasoned and nice and fluffy. The benedict was good too, but not the best I’ve had. I liked that the hollandaise sauce was bright and citrus-y though. The service was friendly but on the slow side.

Coffee – Caffe Xpress

Coffee - Caffe Xpress
Illy brand coffee. 120 PHP
Caffe Xpress, Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH)

This airport is TINY, and I guess they done some renovations to actually expand it. I can’t imagine how small it was previously. The downstairs waiting area gets really packed so we chilled upstairs and grabbed coffee. It was sad to be leaving Boracay! But it actually started raining that  morning and it was going to be the start of a cold spell so I guess it was the best time to leave anyway. 🙂

Granola and yoghurt – Cassava

Granola and yoghurt - Cassava
House made steel cut oats granola, house made yoghurt, summer fruits. $7
Cassava, San Francisco CA

This was pretty tasty, but honestly, there wasn’t enough food! We were SO hungry after having our tiny brunch here that we had to go to get dumplings down the street! I’m not a huge eater, so that says a lot about how small the portions are here. I can definitely eat, but I eat in small portions. Cassava’s portion were even too small for me!

Coffee - Cassava

Dark chocolate ice cream – Caffe Fresco

Dark chocolate ice cream - Caffe Fresco
Served with a sweet rolled wafer cookie. Single scoop 55,000 VND
Caffe Fresco, Ho Chi Minh City VIETNAM

I liked the presentation of this ice cream and that it was served in chilled dish ware. I also liked how they sprinkled a few mini dark chocolate chips on top. I appreciated the details so I didn’t mind paying more than I should have for a single scoop of ice cream.

Single shot iced lattes - Caffe Fresco
